Oh really?! I must have been at the 20th anniversary then where the cast read excerpts at E3. Jack Black was there too. I was probably the only person in the theater who never played the game but it was so unique to see something you worked on being adored by so many people!

One of the greatest and most influential soundtracks was Walt Disney's score for Fantasia (1940). It was the first soundtrack in surround sound and was conducted/arranged by Leopold Stokowski. The recordings were state of the art but the film was a flop. For some reason, Disney rereleased it in 1982 with a brand-new recording that had to be completely true to the original recording to line up to the animation. This re-release was conducted by wonderful conductor Irwin Kostel (West Side Story (1962), Marry Poppins (1964), Sound of Music (1965), etc.). My question is why did Disney feel the need to rerecord the seminal score of their most artistic venture where that recording had to completely conform to the existing animation and today is completely ignored compared to the original Leopold Stokowski version from 1940? What were they thinking? To me, both are excellent, but the Stokowski version is completely superior in interpretation and the technical advances between 1940 and 1982 are marginal since the 1940 recording was the pinnacle of what was then possible. This is very important to me because the 1982 recording soundtrack was my very first album purchased (at $3.99!) when I was a kid because the experience of seeing the 1982 film in a theater that my 4th grade class was forced to attend was mind blowing! I vividly remember that experience.

Nice job! I love the ambition! Some of it reminded me of Shore's score for Lord of the Rings.

There is also this worth a listen. These are war trumpets, so not necessarily pleasant music such as celebratory or incidental music. There are quite a few recordings of pharaonic era music played on recreated instruments.

I paid for the expansion set of Forza Horizon 5 because I wanted to play that hotwheels game. After playing the Mexico race for hours, I can't play hotwheels game because it's locked. No explanation of what to do and it's driving me crazy so I'm requesting a refund. I don't understand why they sell expansion games that might be the only thing I wanted to play and don't allow you to play it without doing something but never explaining what you need to do but you have to play it for hours and hours first before you can play that expansion you bought.

Also, Burlingame did that three hour USC interview with Johnny that included lots of talk of his early life, intro to the industry, etc.

Johnny should do one of those three plus hour Joe Rogan podcasts too.

Definitely check outs Liszt Dante Symphony. It starts in hell but ends in paradise with soft angelic chorus singing your otherworldly major chords.

I met him backstage and it was just as traumatizing as never meeting him. I was going to tell him that I'm a composer and he was my inspiration but said something more like "you good" as he walked right past me saying he has to go on stage.

A few nights ago, I had a dream JW and I were going to see one of the Star Wars movies live to picture. We had dinner and he charmed us all with stories. We got up to leave to the concert hall but the path was very rough and hazardous. I was told that JW said he'll have a driver take him directly, so we went the hazardous route. I made it to the theater and couldn't find my tickets. They wouldn't let me in and I told them I was going to sit next to JW, but had no proof. I was kicked out having no way to gain entrance.

This is a fantastic film and great soundtrack! I once bumped in to Dame Julie Andrews coming out of the bathroom of all places (after an LA Phil concert). She was stunning and probably around 75 years old and looked pristine as always. Aside from the songs, the underscore is really terrific conducted by Irwin Kostal who also did the rerecording of Fantasia. I think I might have to get this.

Absolutely! I recently did an AI upscale of Star Wars A New Hope and it really makes it feel more modern. It's crazy how great that film was given its age and how many times I've watched it. It can still feel fresh. What is surprising to me is that the prequel trilogy doesn't feel as bad as I recall. The sequel trilogy, has fundamental story flaws but who knows what I'll think in 20 years. Maybe they'll make a sequel to the sequel trilogy that will make the sequel trilogy feel like a masterpiece.

Nice job! As a low brass player (bass trombone), I always appreciate this moment. I saw the 14 hour opera once and it was incredibly moving. The sheer spectacle and sense of occasion is hard to describe. It rewards the tremendous patience necessary to experience it in all its glory.

I want to record a streaming radio broadcast from my computer tomorrow using Audacity but the recorded volume ends up being incredibly quiet. I can increase the volume of the input signal but then my computer is playing back that stream incredibly loud. Any suggestions why Audacity is recording the audio signal so quiet and what I need to do to fix this? Alternatively, any suggestions for a free program that is better at recording audio from a live stream?
