  1. The Birds. Fortunately, Hollywood did not realize the cost-savings of such an approach.
  2. He did okay at Chicago but paled in comparison to Meredith (which is unsurprising).
  3. I heard him do it with the CSO and Senator Simpson (I think--he was long since retired). It is a wonderful piece of art and damn fine music as well.
  4. An interestingly different take on the narration than on the later Sony version.
  5. In all fairness, that is exactly the purpose of every temp-track.
  6. Are we talking fiddling with concert pieces or contributing new music to a film?
  7. The frustrating thing is that Williams did deliver it--he just did not give it a workout in the end credits or give us a concert version.
  8. I understand why some find the score in the film to TROS is disappointing. For instance, the editing out of the Speeder Chase is the single most affront to Williams music in a SW project. I do not understand how someone could think the two new major themes are not interesting. Minimally they are solid, interesting themes, but I think that they are both top-tier SW themes.
  9. On the flipside, I seems they are well-paid during non-pandemic times--good for them.
  10. 99% chance this movie does not happen. If the 1% chance is realized and it does happen, 99% Williams does not score it. Of course, there is only a 10% chance my numbers are correct.
  11. I guess the CD is still Far and Away for most people. That's funny because it is also the name of the CD.
  12. Let's face it, if Williams' daily routine is as he states in his interviews, the man has been practicing social distancing since long before the rest of us were born.
  13. It would be devastating if it were only orchestras being shut down. However, it is everything public. Musicians are in the same boat as 50% of the population at the moment. That's why in the US and others they are talking about monthly gov't checks until it is over and then (hopefully), things generally return to the way they were. The sky might be falling all everyone, but I don't think it is selectively falling.
  14. It is all but confirmed that he is writing a new violin concerto. At most, he might step back from movies, but he will compose until he cannot.
  15. Well, it is just the outer layer that is not free from corona.
  16. I think he has revised it previously for the first movement to be played as a standalone piece. He then incorporated into the full concerto.
  17. "No. I have never done that, and how do you do it?" I love Williams.
  18. Daisy needs to convince him to do another concert suite of her theme. There could be an epic 6 minute version of this that would rival any other SW piece.
  19. You should have seen those plots when they were young--they were amazing.
