  1. The concert was an incredible concert. The Beethoven Triple Concerto was played very well. I really loved the Schindler's List Trio (that as far as I'm aware was a world premiere). Anne-Sophie Mutter is amazing as always, and the anecdote about violins in space was interesting. Scherzo for Violin and Motorcycle was a lot of fun, as was Across the Stars. My second John Williams concert was awesome, just like the one from April of last year.
  2. Can't wait to hear the world premiere of Scherzo for Violin and Motorcycle! Last Crusade is my favorite of the Indiana Jones films, and I even have an original poster for it.
  3. One piece I really hope to hear is the Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra, which is one that is rarely heard in concert (with Berlin being the exception).
  4. Just got tickets for me, my sister and my mom. Can't wait to see him in concert!
  5. I thought that the April 2022 Pittsburgh concert was a once in a lifetime experience. While that was an unforgettable experience, I am definitely going to see the Maestro again.
  6. Powell and Pressburger films are loved for their incredibly gorgeous Technicolor photography, and Tales of Hoffmann is no exception.
  7. Let's add Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra from Last Crusade as well as T-Rex Rescue and Finale from Jurassic Park 1 to the list.
  8. Underrated is Jaws 2, a score that expands on concepts from the first Jaws and has many incredible pieces.
  9. Since I'm on the other side of the US and the program is identical to the Pittsburgh concert, I don't plan on going. I'm glad for anyone who's able to go.
  10. The Phantom Menace was the biggest letdown in motion picture history, and yet even that film is better than Attack of the Clones, a film where Lucas learned nothing from his mistakes from The Phantom Menace, and makes Anakin unlikable and unsympathetic 2 films into the trilogy. Even the score reuses exact cues from Phantom Menace alot.
  11. The best concert experience I have ever been to. Splurging on the seats was worth the close-up view of John Williams. The more expensive seats were also much more comfortable than the balcony seats I had on earlier concerts. The performances were incredible, and the Violin Concerto no. 2 is an improvement over the first violin concerto. Can't wait to own the Pittsburgh Symphony SACD of this concert.
  12. In a film filled with great shots, these are two of my favorites. Gregg Toland was unfairly snubbed at the Oscars.
  13. I felt the score was a major letdown, not on the same level as The Mandalorian, let alone the Maestro's Skywalker Saga scores.
  14. I find it hard to enjoy the official scores for Harry Potters 4-8 because of how awesome the first 3 scores are. Similarly, Giacchino's Rogue One score was a huge letdown. Also, most modern film scores nowadays focus on using pre-existing pop music to set the mood, which ends up getting stale fast. Sympathy for the Devil and Don't Stop Me Now have appeared in more major films than the Ode to Joy, despite the Choral Symphony having been around for far longer.
  15. Since I got tickets to see the Maestro in my home city of Pittsburgh, I am not going to the Chicago concert.
  16. The Despecialized Edition Blu-Rays contain an Isolated Score option, as do the 4K77 and 4K83 Blu-Rays.
  17. The track I'm hoping for the most is the violin arrangement of Han Solo & The Princess.
  18. The Pittsburgh concert will be having the Maestro's Violin Concerto no. 2 as it's first half of the program. I'm saving my first listen of the piece for when I'm sitting so close to Williams in Heinz Hall.
  19. My family managed to secure 6 tickets up close for $85 per ticket. I can't wait.
  20. YES! I got tickets to the June concert that was cancelled, and am getting to go for real! Yub nub!
  21. Schubert's complete works are 40 CDs, and Beethoven's 80 CDs.
  22. Can someone do a custom Star Wars UHD + Blu-Ray + Bonus Disc + 1 CD Combo with the 1994 UK VHS cover arts (complete with BBFC ratings). The UHD discs are the 4K77 line on BD-100s, while the Blu-Ray is HAL 9000's Custom Special Edition fanedits. The bonus disc is the official 2020 bonus disc, and the CD is the 1993 disc.
  23. For reference, how long was the gap from the Vienna concert to it's Blu-Ray/CD/Vinyl release? I want to own a copy of this concert.
