  1. Nice! IMHO Daniela Bianchi is a vastly underrated Bond beauty.
  2. Ages ago, on VHS, I synced up the scene from Gladiator of Maximus' first fight as a gladiator with the track of the famous Star Trek "Amok Time" fight music, starting with the fighters waiting to go on, finishing with the end-of-fight music hitting right at the end of the Gladiator fight. It was amazingly close, like Dark Side of the Moon Wizard of Oz close. I'd love to see someone do that, I have neither the time nor the talent nor the resources to try it myself. But it was pretty cool.
  3. Another quality product from Milwaukee, Wisconsin! (see also: Heather Graham) Happy to see a Lois Lane that isn't a stick figure. Sorry, Bitsie Tulloch. Just a personal preference.
  4. First Knight. I dunno, maybe I was cranky about because there was only like 30 to 40 minutes on the initial release. Expanded Edition, much, much happier.
  5. Never hid it, no. My friends definitely knew I was into movie scores, especially John Williams. I had a friend back in grade school/high school days, genius piano player (so naturally he's now a chemistry professor), he could listen to a piece of music once, maybe twice, and just nail it on the piano. Especially odd quirks, one we were especially fond of was in "Raiders", when Indy and Marion survive the Ark opening, the scene transitions to a stock film clip of Washington, DC and just when it changes there's this wonderful, I don't know how to describe it, the orchestra basically hits its last chord and holds it, then a section kind of gently plays (forgive me) a minor-ish-sounding(?) tone. It's at 5:52 in this clip of "The Miracle of the Ark": https://youtu.be/diq1-cpk8Q4?si=F-EnhNTIbo8zxVr7&t=342 Anyway, my main point in jumping into this thread, since I can't find a reference to it or a suitable thread (an alive one, anyway), but one score I definitely didn't talk about avidly was, yes, as crappy and cheesy and late-70s/early-80s as it is, Marvin Hamlisch's "Seems Like Old Times" from 1980 (Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn , Charles Grodin). One of those old favorites that HBO ran 20 times a day every day back then. Maybe because of the prominence of particularly like the love-theme section that starts on sax at 0:44 in this clip: https://youtu.be/xeCyiW7vcZQ?si=Lgc6QOEkDMig_f3s&t=39 Never been an official soundtrack release that I've ever learned of, no LP, no 8-track, no cassette, no CD, no SACD, etc. Still grabbed a clip of it for my phone's music library. Anyone else a fan? Or know what the heck I'm even talking about?
  6. Great work, and thank you so much! However... Where might Vol 2 Track 35 Captain Seven go? Episode 10, of course, but it's been a while since I've watched it so I'm not sure of the exact placement. TIA!
  7. And the Dropbox link for the "third and final corrected digital editions of each volume" comes up with a big fat "File Deleted". C'mon, man.
  8. I thought this was a terrible idea from Day One. But I wanted to give them a chance and see what the trailer showed us. Oy. The grown-up version of the kid, the main lead actor, looks absolutely not like a gladiator-type at all. Was he prancing at one point? I love Pedro Pascal, but even he looks lost in this. And WTF is with those weird pale-skinned guys? Apart from overacting, that is. I don't need a clearly-21st-century piece of "music" thrown in there either. The whole thing just, ugh, zero desire to see it either before or after watching the trailer. It might have a somewhat decent opening weekend, but after that it's gonna tank big-time. They should have left well enough alone.
  9. Hey, I actually know one of the trumpet players on this album/in this band! In fact, took trumpet lessons myself from several of the same instructors/directors. Neat-o! (But on topic, I am looking forward to hearing this score as well!)
  10. Yikes. As much as I think the product will be excellent, and I'd very much want to read all four volumes, I have a hard time trying to convince my poor wallet that I should buy one volume of a four-Volume work for around $160 USD. I don't mean to belittle or attack anyone, nor their outstanding dedication and work that went into this, just stating my (poor person's) point of view.
  11. Re: The Legend of Ruby Sunday... That's more like it!!
  12. Fascinating read, thank you for sharing the article. I've been wondering the exact same thing because recently I've heard both the Wonder Woman theme and Giacchino's The Batman theme referred to as amazing, brilliant, classic etc. Really? I mean, they're both well done and fit their films wonderfully, but, up there with Star Wars and Superman etc.? I'm sorry, but frankly, no way. IMHO, of course.
  13. Ah yes, "Life, the Universe and Everything". Yes, not a bad translation by James Goss.
  14. Thank you! I always forget about that board. Good to hear from the creators. I will sit on my hands a while longer then. It wasn't so much (well, partly) the delay, I'm certainly willing to wait for a quality product, but this lack of communication is not ideal. Thanks for the help, folks!
