  1. No, not Youtube. Quite sure you wont find anything usable there. But this on is a pleasurable alternative for those who did'nt have a chance to listen to the original TinTin score yet. http://vimeo.com/31168476
  2. Ahh! I remember that very well! I watched it a few years ago in it's full lenght. Guess it was about half an hour long. But somehow it dissappeared again. This one here is just an exerpt of this q&a conversation between music students and John Williams.
  3. Most of us might know the featurette from the Jaws Anniversary DVD. I found another one with different footage and interviews. I think it's even better, maybe because it was not so long ago when they recorded this. The narrator might not be everybodys taste though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj4q3NaPl60&feature=related
  4. Here's some other footage I like... The Pittsburgh Symphony performing the Star Wars Suite back in 1977: Johnny and Luciano Enjoy!
  5. Martha's Vineyard resident Lee Fierro: The actress who played Mrs. Kintner is compassionate about the plight of the sharks. She also talks about slapping Chief Brody. http://www.plumtv.com/videos/vineyard-jaws-actress-lee-fiero
  6. @ Airmenjerm: Thanks for this extensive information! Especially about the flautists. The amount of breath they need is often underestimated. I think a trumpet player does'nt need much more breath than a flautist. The thing is that the airsteam is cut in half by the mouthpiece of the flute, so actually only half of it is generating a sound inside the instrument itself.
  7. The Henry Thomas footage is from the movie 11:14
  8. Merry Xmas @ all! Here's a nice medley worth watching. Great performance, great arrangement. Enjoy :-)
  9. There is nothing wrong about a completely new score. It must be very hard for a composer to come even close to what Williams achieved for the original superman score. But please not Hans Zimmer! I dont understand how he became so big out there in Hollywood. His music is nothing special to me. It even bores me somehow. I am just honest about my point of view. Fifty years from now and Zimmer wound'nt even be half as good as Williams is! Wish that someone else could do the job...
  10. John Williams the pieceworker... Just look at his mimic at 0:11, when this guy says: "There is FOUR of us, we come from Europe". He really looks as delighted as a piece worker in a factory does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tm8kLnhL7ZQ&feature=related
  11. Not Youtube, but a Google video... A conversation with world-class violinist Itzhak Perlman and conductor John Williams, the composer of scores for such memorable films as "Star Wars", "Indiana Jones" and "E.T.", about creating moving scores for film and their respective careers in the music. http://www.charlierose.com/view/interview/5406
  12. @ MoviemusicMaestro Maybe I'm wrong, but could it be that the encore "1941" was initially planned to be part of the regular programm? And I missed "Cadillac of the skies" which was originally announced. Well, this one needs a choir. Was that the reason? Or was it due to the Star Wars encore? I am just curious about it
