For FOTR at Radio City last February, they used Ukrainian musicians.  What orchestra they are going to use to stiff the local NY players on this one.

Hoping it's a Herrmann release, maybe a Herrmann Hitchcock box set or something

I would assume the big Matessino title is one of the 1960’s universal releases

Mine arrived today damaged. Thankful to have this cd but it is definitely very low quality

That and the Emperor’s theme where the biggest omissions theme wise, they even cut it out of Asteroid Field.
would have loved to hear Immolation Theme also. Still a great concert.

One of my favorite concerts i’ve ever been to. I was a little nervous about the narrator but it worked out very well, and Duel Of The Fates was amazing. My only issues where some performance issues, mainly in the brass, most probably due to most of the players being on tour. And that I think it lost a little steam during the sequel trilogy. Amazing concert and much prefer the going the movie suite route instead of jumping around.

JW is not here. The timing of the show doesn't allow for encores unfortunately. I was hoping for a lesser-played rarity added to the end, but there's not enough time.

Anyone who is here at Tanglewood right at noon will be treated to some bonus impromptu open rehearsal!

Well looking at those Amazon links, the 2014 CDR version is now OOP and people want $55 on the Amazon marketplace for one, while the original 1998 CD sells for $24 used on the marketplace, so that's probably the better option anyway

But a CD is pressed in a factory, while a CDR is "burned", like you can do yourself on a home computer.  There's absolutely zero difference between the 1s and 0s on the discs and they will sound 100% identical to each other, but theoretically a CD will "last" longer if you're talking about how well your collection plays 30 years from now.  And some people just don't want to spend money on something they could burn at home, vs a CD which is "real" and something you can't make yourself.
