aj_vader reacted to BloodBoal in Disney Records has reissued the original Star Wars OST albums - Sony's contract is over! [digital/streaming releases only]
Just re-record the whole original trilogy and be done with it!

It's a 8-voice women's choir, if I remember well. It will likely be repurposed through a synth patch, as it's a very brief moment.
As for ROTJ, I guess the set-up will call for an optional male chorus (I think it's like an 10-12 voice choir) since it's used pretty extensively in all Emperor's scenes. I don't think it can be done with film stems since the choir was recorded together with the orchestra and not on a separate stem (ah, the old days!).

Doesn't Empire have choir on the approach to cloud city?

aj_vader reacted to Manakin Skywalker in STAR WARS - Live To Projection Concerts
So much good news since Sony lost the rights.

aj_vader reacted to Muad'Dib in STAR WARS - Live To Projection Concerts
ROTJ has certain sections with choir.

Two things:
1. Europe next, please
2. And hopefully new CD releases

Wow! if the LLL JURASSIC PARK set came to life because of the planned Live to Film concert, then with this happening, perhaps we can be hopefull for a mega STAR WARS Box set?

And I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Maybe Disney, with some arm twisting, might consider licensing the Star Wars or Indiana Jones scores to an independent label on the proviso they restrict units to 5000 and release the rights to their work once their stock is exhausted.
It's a win win. Disney get a smaller label to do the research, restoration and assembly of the set (then secure the digital and release rights to their work once sold out). In return, LLL/Intrada get the publicity and prestige of producing the set and first bite of the profits.

It better be Star Wars.

Mic drops are only permitted for John Williams!

aj_vader reacted to crumbs in New John Williams/Matessino 2017 Project Announcement!
Exactly, it would have to top a franchise like Jurassic Park to reach mic-drop heights.

This sounds very expensive! The only Mic dropping in John Williams scores that I can think of is Star Wars, Indy or Potter.

That's cool. So we do know there other Williams projects on the horizon. MV also responded on the La La Land News FSM thread with some interesting plans for 2017 specially 4th quarter. And he is asking us to save our pennies for that batch. Thats something rhyming with what exactly MM also said in the JURASSIC PARK Collection set interview:
but starting in September and through our Black Friday slate I would start saving your pennies because 4th quarter is gonna be amazing if we can pull it all off. I didn't think it was possible to beat 2016s Black Friday batch but 2017 has the chance to be the "be all end all mic drop we retire from here" kind of slate of releases. Lol
The only Mic dropping moment for me would be a the INDY BOX set if it pertains to Williams only.
OR
There could be multiple William related titles such JFK, TOWERING INFERNO, WITCHES OF EASTWICK & CE3K ? That could still be worth mic and jaw dropping OMG moment?

Still MM knows what us people want so he will deliver!

aj_vader got a reaction from fuhrsy31 in Star Wars Prequel Music General Discussion
I think its a great score, Across the Stars alone is enough to make me love the score. The Arena music, also great (even though hardly used in the film).

aj_vader reacted to BloodBoal in How obsessed are you with editing expanded SW Prequel scores
Indeed. Especially when said product has "Every note composed for the film!" written on it.

I used to spend hours/days on creating an Episode 3 Ultimate/Expanded/Complete Edition, but eventually just got tired of hearing sound effects in it and vowed to wait until the official releases arrive. That was 9 years ago...

aj_vader reacted to John Dutton in Apparently 4k isn't always 4k.
The Star Wars OT Blu-rays don't look like full HD to me. Revenge of the Sith is the only good transfer.

aj_vader reacted to #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal in Which Would You Want More: The John Williams Star Wars prequels or Harry Potter Collection?
I love the first Potter, but already have all of it. I don't care much for the second. The third is great, but it's no match for 3 Star Wars scores.

aj_vader reacted to 1977 in Which Would You Want More: The John Williams Star Wars prequels or Harry Potter Collection?
Most definitely the prequels first. I don't own any SW video games so the only music I have access to is the OSTs and the UE of TPM.

aj_vader got a reaction from Josh500 in Which Would You Want More: The John Williams Star Wars prequels or Harry Potter Collection?
This is a tough one because I love the unreleased Prisoner of Azkaban Score, however I have to go with the Star Wars Prequels.
Judging how much is in the movie and the alternates we've heard in the video games etc. I can't see it fitting onto 2 CD's. I just hope all the material is still available. From what I've heard studios just don't take care of the material, scores, recordings etc.

I believed that for a long time too.
