I helped with a recording anomaly on Willow and wasn’t privy to all the data/music.

Regarding conductors and dialogue, Franz Waxman’s Paramount scores often had dialogue heard during the quieter musical passages. When I investigated this further, I discovered he sometimes did listen to the dialogue through a headset when conducting. I painted it out.

Another example I can think of is Leith Stevens who, in at least one instance, did this too for a Paramount score so he could see how his music sit in and around the dialogue.

Yes, it’s probably highly unusual now to do this. But there was a time when everything ended up through a horn-loaded speaker coming from a monophonic optical track full of crackle and pop. Knowing how dialogue intelligibility was going to be maintained in concert with dramatic underscore was as important as ever.

I don't see why they'd go to court over it, but I suppose it would be possible.

First time listening through this masterpiece of a score with headphones on and volume turned up decently loud, and I noticed faint hints of dialogue/some other audio from about 1:40 into "Willow Captured". Does anybody know how or why this is present in this track?

So, @Justanothercrow421, I read not too long ago that they, um, discovered the Mondo JP vinyl gives off, like, a bunch of radon and it's really not safe to hang onto it. Luckily, I'm trained in the disposal of hazardous products like these and I'd be willing to take it off your hands.

It'd be better if you let me take care of that LP. Let me do at least that much for you.

I believe there was quite a long conversation about that in the "What's The Last Score You Listened To?" thread if I remember.

I found at least some conversation on it

Yes. Gorgeous score, top 3 Newman. We've talked about it earlier in the thread. In my latest posting about the score, I linked to this conversation article (Google translated), where we talk more about it.

I love this picture of Morricone pretending to blend in with the sofa. By chance, he's wearing his glasses, so we can actually see him!

Man, those Behance articles Jim makes are so amazing!!  He is so far and away the best in the business, it's quite a feat.  It's so great that he does all of Mike's Williams titles. We're so lucky

BTW, he made those environmental shots for the reissues too

I wonder if Intrada could convince Disney to let them press another batch of 2000 copies?

What an absurd situation this whole thing is.
