  1. In this topic, there has already been some speculation about WP seating on JW concerts and we had a good chat of our own with @Marian Schedenig so I decided to ask my friend who plays double bass in the orchestra (and also played in both JW concerts). He told me the following: I don't know, we always play in this [i.e. American] setup when we're touring and sometimes also in the Musikverein, depends on the programme/project. I think Williams didn't care about the setup we play in. After Saturday's concert (which I attended), he also told me that the orchestra loved this project and
  2. Finished Broadchurch. Terrific! Will shortly be starting Homeland S4, also watching Twin Peaks (well, rewatching it after 25+ years), True Detective S1 and Westworld S1.
  3. It's definitely a great band, very versatile and with a unique sound. Got these three last Saturday in Vienna: - Broadchurch soundtrack - Neujahrskonzert 2020 - Neujahrskonzert 1987, WP conducted by Karajan (this was a gem I wasn't expecting to find and was a great bargain at 5 EUR)
  4. No, none of those yet. Those are my first two CDs by APP and I must say I very much like Tales ... with The Cask of Amontillado being my absolute song so far.
  5. I haven't been here for more than a year so here goes: - The World Is Not Enough (LLL) - Harry Potter JW Soundtrack Collection (LLL) - Schindler's List (LLL 25th Annivcersary) - Dracula (VS) - Apollo 13 (Intrada) - Ben-Hur (Tadlow) - Lang Lang - The Chopin Album - Lang Lang - The Mozart Album - Within Temptation - Mother Earth - Superman: The Movie (LLL 40th Anniversary) - Leonard Bernstein - Symphony No. 2 'The Age of Anxiety' - Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1, Ballades (Seong-Jin Cho & LSO) - Mission: Impossible (LLL)
  6. I'd already forgotten how similar The Desert cue on TGtBatU soundtrack is to some of The Hateful 8 stuff and how Morricone quotes Eine kleine Nachtmusik in Giu' la testa!
  7. Celebrating Ennio's 90th birthday with: - The Thing - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - The Untouchables - Il cuore nel pozzo - Giu' la testa - The Mission - The Hateful 8
  8. Happy birthday to the legend! Celebrating by listening to his scores, The Untouchables at the moment.
  9. The Fury (LLL) Scott of the Antarctic Mission: Impossible LotR: FotR CR

Stephan Zacharias - Der Untergang Joe Hisaishi - Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds Sergei Prokofiev - Alexander Nevsky
  11. One of my Goldsmith favorites, probably because I also really liked the movie, having first seen it as a 15-year old kid. Suchet was a great villain! Also love the long overdue deluxe edition of the score which finally came out in 2016 (Varese Sarabande).
  12. This year, I've watched two Stephen King classics, Misery and Carrie. Listened to those:
  13. - Saving Private Ryan (LLL 20th anniversary) - The Matrix Revolutions (LLL) - The Haunting (VS deluxe) - The Exorcist (Perseverance reissue)
  14. Well, it was pretty expensive and very limited, so yeah, I'm kind of happy and proud to have it in my collection.
  15. Just started watching Black Mirror on Netflix. Also regularly watching The Handmaid's Tale (just finished S1), The 100 (mid-S2) and Salvation (also mid-S2). And BTW, THT is one of the best and definitively the creepiest TV show I've watched so far (and believe me, I've seen A LOT of 'em). Wonderfully shot and genuinely scary with great potential to make the viewer repeatedly feel very uncomfortable. May it never come true! On the other hand, Margaret Atwood, the author of the book the show is based on, stated: "We're not living in Gilead yet, but there are Gilead-like symptoms goin
  16. I've watched two old but gold Stephen King classics on Halloween evening: first Misery, then Carrie. Seen them both for the umpteenth time but still enjoyed every minute. What fantastic performances by Kathy Bates, Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie!
  17. Instead of attending the Vienna concert today, I listened to these babies: - Saving Private Ryan (LLL) - Empire of the Sun (LLL) - Jaws (Intrada) - The Cowboys (VS)
  18. I was lucky to be able to add this cool item to my movie memorabilia collection a few years ago.
  19. Wow, and I mean WOW! I'm SO ordering this! Thanks so much for mentioning it, heaven only knows when and how I would otherwise have found out about it. If anybody else would be interested, the study score can be found (and ordered) here. Even some sample pages/cues can be previewed.
  20. Wow, this store looks amazingly well stocked, very impressive! I'll definitely need to visit that next time when I get to London. Looks like it's less than an hour and a half from London. Thank you, @JTWfan77!
