  1. Just like Chris Reeve was the perfect Superman and literally born for the role he played, so was Margot Kidder and she played Lois Lane perfectly, no other actress could have/has done it better. Rest in peace!
  2. Performed by Slovenian Police Orchestra, conducted by Tomaž Kmetič. Music by John Williams, wind orchestra arrangement by Jay Bocook. Medley features music from Star Wars, Empire of the Sun, Jaws and Far And Away. Recorded on February 25th, 2018 in Medvode, Slovenia @ 10th annual Film Music Night.
  3. I've to watch the final episode of the first season of Lost in Space and second (and unfortunately, final ) season of Designated Survivor, then I'm moving on to Westworld and to Safe like Alex above.
  4. Listened to Dave Holland Big Band (this CD) today. Amazing musicianship and musicmaking!
  5. Jerry Goldsmith - First Blood A classic, what else can I say.
  6. - ET the Extra-Terrestrial (LLL) - The Shawshank Redemption (LLL) - Appaloosa - Troy (Intrada expansion) - Die Another Day (LLL) - CE3K (LLL) - Titanic (LLL) - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Intrada 2 CD) - The Post - Planet Earth (Silva reissue/remaster) - The Silence of the Lambs (2018 Quartet edition) - Stranger Things Season 1 Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 - Stranger Things Season 2 - Twin Peaks (Limited Event Series soundtrack) - Living in the Age of Airplanes - Ready Player One - The Day the Earth Stood Still - The Terminator (Milan remaster) Not all of them at once, of course, but it's been a long time since I last posted here!
  7. I've already bought all 1997 sets 18 or so years ago, and I have several excellent fan edits so I'm set up pretty well in that regard. OK, so it seems I can save some money with these remasters. Thanks for the input!
  8. Well yeah, the "only" problem is that the "future" you mention is totally unforeseeable! It could happen in 2035 for all we know!
  9. And I was just about to implore you to buy one for me if you get the chance!
  10. The idea is appealing to be sure, but I think I would rather not see such box as the price tag on it would probably be way up high. I mean, how many CDs would there be?!
  11. Sooo ... Somebody, anybody, let's have some bottom line please! I'm sorry to say I don't have the time right now to read all 31 pages of this topic but should I (or, for that matter, anybody) buy these remasters? All of 'em? I gather that the noticeably improved sound quality is strong enough argument to warrant purchase?
  12. Yeah, I suspected as much. Still, they could have somehow obtained choral parts from Williams or his agency. After all, this is the LSO, for crying out loud! I'm certain it could have been done in matter of hours. But it seems nobody really cared about it, seems like making it a little bit more worthwile was not an option and/or of little interest to those involved. Their bad.
  13. I don't think we did, however, it's nice to know even after 14 years!
  14. I'll definitely try to be there, after all, it's only about 400 km drive from my hometown to Vienna. Still, it does depend on how fast I'll be able to react to the fact that the tickets have gone on sale once that happens, and of course on their price. The last time I visited Vienna was for Shore's LotR symphony. That was in 2004 ... My, time does fly!
  15. An inspired performance of this wonderful medieval piece.
  16. That's a great idea! Many times over the past years, I have already been thinking about which symphonies JW could record because I would really love to hear his interpretations of these classical masterpieces: - Beethoven 5 and 7 - Shostakovich 5 - Tchaikovsky 4 - Mahler 1 and/or 2 - Dvořák 9 ... and many more, of course! Concerning the A Life in Music release, I can't help wondering why the hell didn't they also use the choir for Jurassic Park? Probably those choral lines weren't a part of the usual concert arrangement they recorded? Can't think of any other plausible explanation, especially since the choir was already aboard for Saving Private Ryan.
  17. At 1:57, there is the only live performance of the FaceHuggers cue that I know of or have ever seen on YouTube or anywhere else on the internet (correct me if I'm wrong), and it's pretty damn awesome!
  18. (The VS deluxe edition, of course.) Even after all these years, my favourite soundtrack by JH.
  19. Gratias ago, amicissime. I remember I also received the BB just like you did - "in a sturdy box with bubble wrap and other padding it arrived pristine". But unfortunately, after a few days, the book started to fall apart as seen on the photos. But surely, SAE will have rectified the issue by now, I remember that soon after many complaints surfaced, they started replacing books free of charge but I didn't apply for it back then so I don't know if the replacements were actually of better quality. Ah OK, thank you! I think I'll try.
  20. Yeah, this one (and in LLL's magnificent expanded edition, of course) really is one of the best.
