  1. Yoda's Theme for sure. Luke and Leia and Leia's Theme are good ones, too.
  2. That's really great! Only Bush could be scammed by a kindergartner!
  3. How can it bother you if it's pleasant?
  4. I think that the Birds was one of the the slowest moving, most boring movie I've ever seen. The only film I can think of right now that's worse than The Birds is 1941. I think a bit of music could have seriously moved that movie along. IMO, Hitchcock really screwed up there...I mean, there wasn't even an ending! Most of his films can be a bit anti-climactic (or at least, the climax isn't the best part). The Birds, there was no climax! There was one good reason why "The Birds" was sans soundtrack-realism. I believe that Hitchcock thought that tension cues and whatever would be totally distracting to the narrative and he also wanted his audience to be smack in the middle of something that could quite possibly happen.Oh yeah,he's a little vague in his intentions, but that's precisely why this movie is one that holds up well on repeat viewings over the years-Every nook and cranny isn't explained to you and you have to think about it each and every time you watch it. I mean is Tippi Hedren "evil" or is it just coincidence? The reason for the "no ending" ending was to keep everyone hanging and thinking. Is it really the "end of the world" or is it just some bizarre temporal thing? Hitchcock leaves it up to you to decide,if you ever can.Sorry, can't tie this one up with a ribbon because it's already been shredded by our avian friends.. Music would have done nothing but get in the way. This is a true actors movie and Hitchcock chose his actors wisely. A lot of people would venture that this movie is an action piece with character bits in between. It's really the other way around.... While that may be true, you can't deny that it's slow moving.

    M:I-2

Hans Zimmer's M:I-2 is probably one of the worst scores I own. There are only a few good cues. So my question is this: What's the best? My favorite is probably Mission: Accomplished, which I think it much better than the rest of the score. Then comes Nyah and Ethan, then Bare Island, which are okay. The rest are on par with the rest of the score (which isn't a good thing). Zimmer's effort was not totally wasted, IMO, although I sincerely wish someone else scored this movie.
  6. That is a truly breathtaking scene.
  7. I can't wait for the time when I can log on to the jwfan forum, and see a poll titled: "Rate Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Then, I will have died and gone to heaven.
  8. C'mon Crusade fans, I need you...!
  9. Jaws 47: The Worst 1. Main Theme from Jaws 2. Attack on the Biker (they're getting really desperate for new ideas...) 3. "We're Gonna Need a Better Movie!" 4. Return of the Piece of Garbage...Waits, that's supposed to be the shark! 5. Brody CCXXXXXIIIIII's triumph 6. Just When You Thought Jaws Couldn't Get Any Worse...JAWS 47! 7. Another Attack....sheesh 8. Lorraine Gary shoots herself after being forced to act in another Jaws movie 9. The Shark Sprouts Legs and Walks on the Beach 10. Brody CCXXXXXIIIIII's memories 11. Brody CCXXXXXIIIIII's close shave 12. Brody CCXXXXXIIIIII's death 13. Brody CCXXXXXIIIIII's funeral 14. The End Credits (finally)
  10. Indy's First Adventure is one of THE best action pieces ever written. It's up there with Asteroid Field, Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra, and many more. So is Escape from Venice.
  11. I had never heard the Jane Eyre love theme, so that was a nice bonus.
  12. That says it all, with the exception of Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra. Bravo!
  13. so, to change the topic....who thinks Indy 4 will get an Oscar nomination or win for score?
  14. a bit off topic, but i just got my second MG CD, The Incredibles. Really great score! Love the old-fashioned, almost corny, spy music. Better in my opinion, than my only other MG score, M:i:III.
  15. Also, Buckbeak's Flight and the last bit of Remembering Childhood, when the triumphent themes are played, and Ride the Dragon from Shrek, at about 0:59.
  16. Also, I'm looking forward to the version of the "Reclamation of Nature" theme as Theoden rides by, hitting the Rohirrim's spears w/ his sword. The entire film version of Pelanor Fields is the thing I'm looking forward to the most.
  17. I was picking what seems to be the most popular of the scores, based on what I've heard from other topics. I am not trying to say Jedi and ToD aren't good, (I love them!), but you can't deny that most people on this board would pick one of those two scores over the ones not included, even if you disagree /w them.
  18. wow, you made this Battle of the Worst poll right before I made the Battle of the Best...creepy.
  19. There has been much heated discussion recently (see "I'll be happy if IV is as good as III) about the Indiana Jones scores. In the end, most people either like Last Crusade or Raiders. Hence, this poll was made. There has also been some talk about the original Star Wars trilogy scores. Most people pick Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back. Hence, the second poll was made. The "Never heard 'em." option is so you can vote for on one of the polls, without having to vote on the other. Let the voting begin! BTW, I voted Empire and Crusade. CLEARLY superior, in many ways.
  20. Rohan's Theme, after Thedoen agrees to help Gondor fight Choral Fellowship Theme Charge on the oliphants and many more...
  21. The only Newman score I own is Lemony Snicket, which I think is quite good and unique. Taken by Supreeze especially.
  22. The only CD I'm looking forward to more than ROTK CR is Indy 4. IT WILL BE BETTER, BET ON IT!
