  1. Assuming this has nothing to do w/ music, then Dumbledore vs Voldemort. Great special affects, as well as sound affects. They really got creative w/ this. It wasn't just two glowing sticks hitting each other, or two people beating the other one up w/ invisible punches.
  2. since when does the amount of posts define social status?
  3. Keep telling yourself that. If that is true (which it isn't), then I vote to impeach.
  4. All of Steef's are JG, but he isn't being bashed about that. At least I have SOME variety.
  5. IMO, the scores get better as each movie continues. These are what, IMO, are the best of the best cues from each score (meaning I gave them 5 stars on iTunes): Fellowship: Concerning Hobbits The Breaking of the Fellowship. TT: The Uruk-Hai Helm's Deep Forth Eorlingas. ROTK: Hope and Memory Minas Tirith The White Tree The Fields of Pelennor The Black Gate Opens Into the West
  6. Most of my favorite scores are by John Williams. Is that wrong?
  7. Film music is still great! Take the HP, LOTR, SW prequels, Charlie/Chocolate Factory, A.I, the Terminal, and many, many more....

  9. I love the cue...My favorite version is the one John Williams Greatest Hits, but I also like the album version.
  10. WHen the oliphants are charging at Rohan in ROTK, the music builds up, but stops as soon as the oliphants attack (sort of like RAiders bar scene). Also, Home Alone 2, when Kevin being chased by the coneirge through the hotel, and he runs in his room to do the whole "TV/tommy gun gag". The music does a wonderful crescendo, then silences.
  11. So the Jaws OST is better than the 25th anniversary, too? Crap...I might have to buy that one too!
  12. Anyone from the first film that's still alive.
  13. Some of the action music from I Don't Think Now Is the Best Time (At World's End) is good, although it's just a rehash of music from the rest of the film. Overall, I must agree w/ you. That is the only type of music I think JW has gotten worse at. I mean, take the Asteroid Field and compare it the General Grevious. Both are good, both fit the film, but AF is much more superior to listen to.
  14. I consider the last bit of Reunion of Friends like the Imperial March right before the end credits of AOTC--it's using old, great themes, but to a much more dramatic and bold extent. I love those parts in scores!
  15. I love the Main Titles and Setting the Trap.
  16. Could someone link it to me on amazon? Because I'm having trouble find the OST.
  17. ET works much better on the original release. Is just like any great symphony. Well, maybe. Actually, I don't understand what's the issue here. For the most part, the narration is very little intrusive. It's very intrusive if Back to America is one your favourite Williams cue(one that I often put in "Best of Williams compilations"),and has someone speaking over the clarinet solo opening the piece.Back to America is an OK track, a fine conclusion to the musical journey, to an otherwise masterpiece score. ET works much better on the original release. Is just like any great symphony.Really? Why?Either you never heard the original release or you are completely deaf. Pick one. I've never heard the original release. Seriously. Is it worth getting the OST when I already have the SE? Is is availible on CD, or just LP
  18. Almost like a cameo appearance only much more subtle and sophisticated. indy4 - who doesn't think the prequel movies are THAT bad It's woven into "Across the Stars", right? BTW, a score is supposed to serve the film and the filmmaker, don't forget that. I think that's only at the very end of the end credits version of Across the stars.
  19. ET works much better on the original release. Is just like any great symphony.Really? Why?
  20. There are no cues in Home Alone 1 or 2 I'm aware of that were left out--but I'm sure there must be. Also, the Psycho recording by Joe McNeely has every cue in chronological order, but I'm not sure if that is the first recording of the score.
  21. Thanks...I think And don't worry, I'm still an annoying poll guy--I'm just not new
