How can you talk about the best Zimmer cues if you only own four soundtracks of him?
I have five.
And is said "in my opinion". You should really read things more carefully.
My apologies. I'm not good at maths.
But an opinion has to be based on something. Five soundtracks is not enought to say that. It would have been more appropriate if you said "amongst the soundtracks I own, these are the best tracks".
Okay, fair enough. In the future, I will say "amongst the soundtrack I own".

Um, because IMO, the only really good unreleased music is in ROTK.
-
You mean getting ROTK CR w/out FOTR CR and TT CR? ROTK is the only movie w/ unreleased music I actually want.
-
Well, Up is Down is worth the price of the whole album.
Being a 2:40 minute cue, I wouldn't be so sure. However, it is true that I fell in love with that track for some time...
Up is Down, Chevalier de Sangreal, Jack Sparrow, and the end of King of Pride Rock are IMO the best Zimmer cues.
That's one cue for every Zimmer score I have, w/ the exception of Mission Impossible 2
-
But still the best, right?Hey, anybody know if FOTR and TT are worth getting the CR for? I have the OST. I've watched the movies multiple times, and there has never been any unreleased music that I really wanted. Is there some great stuff out there?

Yes, I should. I've never seen the movie.

ROTK is by far the best LOTR score! I can listen to every single track, which is unusual for me.
-
I agree that POTC: At World's End is my all time favorite pirate film score.
I think Marian just died of shock!
Nothing surprises me anymore. At least he picked the enjoyable one of the three scores.
You all should really listen to Up is Down, Drink Up Me Hearties, What Shall We Die For, Singapore, and the rest.

Only classical piece I REALLY REALLY like (not counting JW, of course), is Danse Mecabre.
-
Yes, but think of all the joy one can get from the Complete Recordings!
But waiting 4 years to listen to a note of ROTK so you can save $ my just buying the complete recordings is a waste.
-
JW's best music lies in fantasy/sci-fi, so this poll had to be made.
-
Yah, these lists are really fun!
I'm afraid I only own a few songs from each of these scores.
1. Lady in the Water
2. Peter Pan
3. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
That's all I have by JNH.
-
I'll probably buy the CR and forget about the rarities disc and book, at least until I know more about it. What's nomally on a rarities disc?
-
What LOTR: ROTK cue are you most looking forward to?
I want the cue right after Aragorn sees the beacons of Gondor being lit, and goes to ask Theoden to aid Gondor. I also want the cue when Theoden starts riding in front of Rohan's army, his sword clanging against their spears. Other than that, there are many other good cues in Pealeanor Fields, and throughout the rest of the movie. Those are the only ones that come to mind at this very moment.

1. Nightmare Before Christmas
2. Edward Scissorhands
3. Corpse Bride
4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
5. Beetlejuice
-
Hook.
I agree that POTC: At World's End is my all time favorite pirate film score. But then again, Hook and Pirates can't be compared. They are totally different types of scores.

I know, another poll, bohoo! I think most of JW's best music lies in fantasy/sci-fi, so this poll had to be made.
I didn't include War of the Worlds, because I can only have 20 choices, and I didn't think that would get many votes anyways. Jaws and Jaws 2 don't count, because they are thriller/fiction, NOT fantasy/sci-fi. And now, my preference:
1. Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Superman: The Movie
3. Last Crusade
4. Jurassic Park
5. E.T.
6. Empire Strikes Back
7. Sorcerer's Stone
I can't choose the rest.
-
1. Star Trek: The Motion Picture
2. Planet the Apes
That's all the Goldsmith I have. My favorite JG cue is defenetly "Soarin'" from Soarin over California ride in CA Adventures.
EDIT: just got Mulan, goes between ST:TMP and PotA.

backdraft?
Nice picking of music by Spielberg

Which track?
-
I don't really mind. I mean, I'd prefer one w/out scratches, but I'm fine if it does, as long as it plays well.
-
I love the Lost World!

There was no link on that last post, Mr. Breathmask.
Anyways, here's a Jurassic Park trailer:
What's the music that starts at 2:06?

Are Indiana Jones Scores going to be re-released?

In one of the videos on indianajones.com, Spielberg states that shot for shot, this movie is 100% for the fans, and not for himself.
