It's Lucas, don't rule out an attempt to make more money.
Yeah, I've been thinking about that. Lucas seems to be trying to draw from his past sucesses recently...The SW prequels, Indy 4, and all this "Star Wars 30th anniversary" stuff. It would make sense to him to release these.

hahahaha

I think that summed it up admirably.
I assume this means no.

I've been hearing (or seeing) some rumors on this forum that are saying Lucas is working on re-realising the scores to Indiana Jones, for the premier of Indy 4. Any new on this yet?

I don't own the Batman soundtrack, but I just bought Ascent into Mystery on iTunes. Not my favorite by Elfman, but defenitley a great track!

******SPOILER***********
The Deathly Hallows were a trio of items that when brought together would make their wielder the "Master of Death".
I've read the book...Just wondering what ChrisAfonso said about Tom Riddle in GOF...What does that have to do w/ mixing two words?
-
I'm also hoping the Idiana Jones trilogy will be re-released with Indy IV, I heard George Lucas is working on making that happen.
were did you hear that?
-
Dealthy? Does that stand for "dead, but healthy"? Like the Riddles in chapter 1 of GoF?
huh?

There a lot of people here who truly worship John Williams.Among us some say his concert works are his more profound compositions and some say his film music is his true voice. Some like his dramatic 90's style, some like his classic 70's and 80's sound the best. Some say ESB and some say Star Wars. But we all agree John Williams is one of the greatest composers who ever lived.
Then there are those who are here because of a passing interest in the SW prequels and Harry Potter, but think Lord of the Rings or Pirates of the Carribean are the greatest things ever composed and boldly proclaim they "clobber" scores written by Williams in the peak of his career. This insults me as a JWFAN
Howard Shore has limited ability to write themes.Composers like John Williams,Jerry Goldsmith,Alan Ailvestri, James Horner and John Barry are all light years above his talent.Shore is about on par with composers like Patrick Doyle or George Fenton. To me his 25 or so themes for LotR define mediocrity, and they are only compensated with over the top orchestrations and a gigantic orchestra. The White Tree sounds good because it is performed by 200 brass and strings instruments playing at the same time and so loud in the film you can't help but feel something.I have been listening to film music for 30 years and have heard a lot of stuff...if I can't make it past the 30 minute mark in the FotR complete recording without passing out of boredom there is something wrong .
K.M.
While I think Howard Shore deserves much more praise than you give him, and I feel that his score for LOTR is one of my favorite, and a fabulous piece of music, I agree that JW surpasses him in many of his scores. I agree with you, but not nearly as extremely as you do.

News flash! After literally mintues ceaseless searching, I've discovered the man responsible for Sony's plan:

That would make sense.

It's a tie between ANH and ESB for me.
ESB is better than Star Wars by a longshot.
wrong
ANH has some great music (The Throne Room, Cantina Band, Main Title), but no really FANTASTIC material. ESB has Han Solo and the Princess, The Asteroid Field, Yoda's Theme, Imperial March, Clash of Lightsabers, The Carbon Freeze, Cloud City's Theme, and Rebel Fleet. I'm sorry, but when compared, it's clear who the winner is.

Cuaron used Williams because Azkaban was produced by Columbus. Also, don't trust anything you read from Wikipedia, anyone can post anything on that site. So it saying Hooper will be back for The Dealthy Hallows is definitley not a fact.
true

what sucks and I'm sure everyone here would agree is that there would have been no better chance to release the music than now...
I don't agree.
This is the 30th anniversary of a film called Star Wars, not of a film called The Empire Strikes Back, Return Of he Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Attack Of The Clones or Revenge of the Sith.
And yet they are releasing the soundtracks to Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Why not the prequels?
-
RotK doesn't even come to the ankle of ESB
That's quite true ... it grabs its neck and chokes it.
Better than ESB, yes. Better than ALL the other scores listed, no way.

Sorcerer's Stone
PoA
OotP
Jurassic Park
Superman
Last Crusade
Nightmare before Christmas
the list goes on and on and on......

Well, he could still be doing Hallows. I never expected him to do Half-Blood Prince anyways.

Anybody know what this is and why it's selling for so much?

How could you, gkgyver?
-
Yeah, but they were cooler...some how.
That's probably more to do with the fact that Yates is back for the sixth film, rather than an executive decision.Acording to the wikipedia, Nicolas Hooper will score Half-Blood Prince. In that case, it doesn't seem that Warners wants to get rid of him.According to this link, Yates confirms in person Hooper will be scoring.http://www.harrypotterfanzone.com/fusion/f...ews.php?id=2112
If JW and Hooper couldn't score Hallows, I think I'd pick Silvestri or Howard

Jurassic Park gets worse with every viewing.
Not true! Jurassic Park is just as entertaining, if not more, since the first time I saw it!

Page 9, way to go, guys! One more page and we'll be to the big one 0!!

We can dream, can't we?

I didn't expect someone here to vote for the enemy:
Voted for Return Of The King. What else?

Escape from Outapau, the funeral march in the last scene bit, and the film version of Anakin's Betryayal would be great pieces to have.
