The DNR on this is a bit excessive.
Felt like I was visiting the Beatles House of Wax.

With all due respect, you're a broken record. You don't need to come into every expansion announcement and declare the release doesn't interest you. We get it. Move on and post in threads that do interest you.

Can you seriously not understand how your perpetually negative sentiment around remasters/expansions would be deflating to Mike and the various people working their asses off to produce these releases? Not to mention Williams himself, who seems to be rapt with these updated presentations of his scores.

I don't think he's talking about the quality of the movies, but the experience of seeing Star Wars for the first time in the theater (in 1977). To which I agree.

Many artists don't want their live performances to be an exact replica of their studio recordings (fortunately).

I've only recently joined, but have been a lurker for longer than I'd like to admit. My reasons for not joining sooner and adding to topic's are pretty much the same as most of the people who have commented, not knowing much and feeling like I can't bring anything to the discussion, work life being tiring, other forums where I have posted my comments are usually ignored or end the conversation making it hard to want to participate.

Williams music is something I'm passionate about, this site has been an invaluable resource in not only his music but about film music in general and I hope to take part in discussions more.

As some know here I'm a big soundtrack collection of 30+ yrs, help run Notefornote Music with Bryon Davis and I also rep some stellar composers like Vince DiCola. Not sure if anyone saw this, but there is a sale going on and you can get 4 older Vince DiCola CD's and then get his newest Rocky IV: The Symphonic Rock Suite for free and signed by Vince who's my client and friend.  These 4 CD's go for some crazy prices on the secondary market and prior to repping Vince I can attest I paid a big price for one of them back in the day.  Lots of great music from Vince and his writing partner Kenny Meriedeth and many others from Vince's career, Transformers, Rocky IV and many other projects he worked on over the yrs is in this set. Also comes with an instant download of the ROCKY IV suit.

Looks like there are less than 15 bundles left in case anyone needs/wants to know.

ORDER & INFO: https://bit.ly/3ByD4hf   You get: Falling Off A Clef Found Objects Of Two Minds In-Vince-Ible! plus the Rocky IV Rock Suite Signed CD (free)

Not to be a stickler, but when someone says “next summer” in October 2021, they’re referring to summer 2022. The use of the words “this” and “next” in a calendar year context refer to the current and following years, respectively. Note that this works because winter starts before the end of any given calendar year, so there’s no season where the above use of “this” or “next” is inconsistent with the intended meaning. Note too that this vernacular convention applies to words spoken in the second half of the year (in the first half of the year, the word “next” is really only used in the context of winter or spring.) I imagine someday, after enough climate change has happened, that this vernacular convention might change. But we’re not there yet.

Thank you for reading and uncritically absorbing this completely unnecessary, unsolicited piece of pedantry. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

ah that's so awesome!  and a little strange for me, because yesterday i was literally thinking about how KOTCS lacked some outfits for Indy (besides the suit for teaching (which is in every film)/getting married)

    Let's hope there's more!!

Raiders: Regular Outfit, Professor Outfit, Indy at home with bathrobe, Casual outfit without Jacket, map room disguise, german outfit, suit and tie in DC

ToD: Tuxedo, Regular Outfit, Professor Outfit, Indy under the spell with no shirt, Indy with the ripped sleeve

Last Crusade: Regular Outfit, Professor Outfit, Viewing the tapestries outfit, Regular Outfit w/Tie, German Disguise, Zeppelin waiter disguise

KOTCS: Regular Outfit, Professor Outfit, Marriage Suit

dang, really highlights the lack of creativity that KOTCS had

Greetings fellow film and TV and game score friends.  Bryon Davis and I from Notefornote Music just released Vince DiCola's nearly 20 minute Rocky IV: The Symphonic Rock Suite on CD.  The CD is specially priced considering it's only 19-20 minutes in length for $7.99.  Vince has agreed to sign some copies and we do have signed copies left.  I also am lucky enough to be Vince's manager too.  I still can't believe I'm part of his team.  What's cool about this release is that it contains the song "Heart's On Fire", but more cool is the instrumental break "Up The Mountain" which was on Intrada's great Rocky IV score album, is included in the song where it should be so this will be the first release which includes the instrumental break in the song.  The three tracks are 1. Training Montage, 2. Heart's On Fire / Up The Mountain, 3. War.  Thought some of you may want this.  The CD purchase also includes a free download of the score so you can start listening to it immediately.  I was there for this concert and I have to tell you after Vince finished the concert, the love he received from the audience was unlike anything I had every seen.  Thought you should know in case anyone wants to pick up the CD.

I'm not a composer and altought I can read music and play a bit of piano and guitar... I always find that music is "magic" for me... and I have a lot of respect for film music composers who, still in 21st century, write memorable works for a medium, the cinema, which evolved in a strange path since 20 years...

I like directors who decide to go "old school" when making movies. I think CGI can't replace everything... And well-built, structured and well developped music will never replace loops and moody generic modules virtually created in a software...

Presale starts this Monday! Details below.   Renowned composer and conductor John Williams, superstar violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and Music Director Manfred Honeck bring a special program of Williams’ music to Heinz Hall for a one-night-only event with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.   Under the baton of Manfred Honeck, Anne-Sophie Mutter and the PSO will perform John Williams’ Violin Concerto No. 2, written especially for her. Then, John Williams takes the podium to lead the second half of the program which features selections from some of his most popular film scores.
