  1. Obviously not that contractual, he shaved it all off towards the end of production for Resurrections. (Alternate article with picture) Hmm... not sure on that one, those TVs just showed variations of Neo's possible reactions as opposed to replaying events.
  2. There are screens replaying The Matrix in the trailer, so it stands to reason it exists as some form of entertainment in that world. To what end, we don't yet know.
  3. I rewatched the series myself this week. While I can say Reloaded slipped slightly in my estimations when I rewatched it, Revolutions actually rose. It doesn't answer all the questions it needed to answer, and I have my suspicions as to why that might be, but somewhere in there is a decent 80-minute film. The first and final acts were good, it was just everything between dragged.
  4. BBFC classifications for the trailers suggest that Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be rated 15 in the UK, same as the first film.
  5. True. They were responsible for "In My Head" in The Matrix Revolutions.
  6. I've looked up some of the music from Cloud Atlas, and it's actually not bad. Certainly better than any of the Zimmersynth crap I was fearing. So maybe they can pull this off. In all honesty, there is really only one sound I think they have to have: the pile driver. Even if they don't use Davis' themes (and I suspect they will - at the very least, I expect they'll keep the opening theme the same), that's the one sound that I would consider synonymous with the soundscape of The Matrix.
  7. He's going to be someone important... like an actor.
  8. A holdover from the end of Revolutions, in which the green filter disappeared after Smith was destroyed and the Matrix was rebooted.
  9. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has confirmed he is playing Morpheus, replacing Laurence Fishburne in the role. Source
  10. I can agree with you on that, but it seems those who hate Dark Fate have louder voices.
  11. Not known for sure. Probably not, TBH (Trinity's consciousness survived in the Matrix one of the games, for instance).
  12. You're going to be sorely disappointed, then đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž
  13. Some screens from the trailer, and my thoughts on them. I don't know the plot of the film, so all I have are guesses. -Absoutely no way that's not young Morpheus. I can't wait to hear their justification for not bringing Laurence Fishburne back. -Some people think this is an alternate sequel to the first film, partly because of the way WB is choosing to market the film (specifically and exclusively mentioning the first film). However... that's Agent Johnson from Reloaded, and Bane-scarred Neo from Revolutions. No reboot happening here. -Neo seems to be having hallucinations that look a lot like a morph of his face with an old Agent Smith. Well, they do have their scans of Hugo Weaving from Reloaded, so if all Smith was needed for is a couple of hallucination shots, no wonder they didn't need Hugo Weaving. Having said that, look at Agent Johnson. He's in a black suit with angled sunglasses, instead of a dark green suit and square glasses. It suggests to me that Smith may be an undercurrent in the plot still - hidden in plain sight. -Trinity is going to be reborn into the real world, so she's not just a simulacrum. Given her fatal wounding at the end of Revolutions, she's likely been given a newly-created body. Interesting that they did not do the same for Neo, but then again he doesn't need eyes to be a useful battery.
  14. It does! It also looks a heck of a lot more intriguing than I expected. I hope the trailer's music is an indication they'll be keeping Don Davis' themes, at least.
  15. There's no audio, no. It matches up with the earlier leak of a photo of him by Tobey Maguire, in which he's in the same pose. Also, from what I remember from watching behind-the-scenes videos, they used green screen and not blue screen in both TASM films, presumably because of the blue in the suit. (That actually raises a good point re. this, but they more or less eliminated the need for a particular type of screen because they're just going to CGI the suits anyway, and it looks like TOm's suits don't have blue in them for this film) Somebody lip read him, and though they couldn't make out everything, part of what he's saying is apparently "you're Spider-Man".
  16. It has got to be the weirdest denial I've heard though. What, are you suggesting you may have filmed the part in your sleep?
  17. BuT hE HaS nO REcOlLEcTIOn oF BeING iN tHE fILM (An hour prior to this leaking, an article popped up on Variety in which he made that exact claim) https://variety.com/2021/film/actors/andrew-garfield-eyes-of-tammy-faye-tick-tick-boom-spider-man-1235057646/
  18. Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer have been confirmed to be scoring The Matrix Resurrections, replacing Don Davis and Juno Reactor, who collaborated on previous installements. Source I must confess that I am disappointed. I was hoping to hear Davis and Juno Reactor together one last time. Let's hope the score is decent at least (I confess I have no knowledge of Klimer and Tykwer's previous works)
  19. Now that does suck. Was hoping for a Davis/Juno Reactor reunion. I hope they at least keep Davis' theme, even if they have to track it in over the opening.
  20. Not what I was getting at. Wingard decided early on not to use the Japanese themes because he felt it wouldn't feel 'authentic'. So he asked Junkie XL to do a knock-off version.
  21. I find Wingard's reasoning for asking Junkie XL to do it perplexing as well. "Well, the original music was meant to highlight the Japanese Godzilla and the tragedy around it, so we won't use it. But, can you make your theme sound like it?" If you're going that far, then just use the original themes. McCreary proved that they can be updated faithfully. If you want original music, then do original music without having to make it sound like a bootleg of a past composer. I literally got told 'well, other composers in the franchise also didn't use Ifukube' when I expressed this. Yeah, but the key there is they wrote their own material that didn't sound like a rip-off. Takayuki Hattori, for example, came up with an entirely original score for the much-maligned Godzilla Earth trilogy. He wrote an entirely new theme for Godzilla. Not one note sounded like anything Ifukube wrote. Same goes for Michiru Ìshima, the composer of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Tokyo SOS. And of course, as previously mentioned, Desplat's score for the 2014 film.
  22. Well, isn't this a blast from the past? A film that is not Star Wars has an official website. Not only that: this was the same URL used for the official website for the original trilogy. https://www.whatisthematrix.com/ Nothing but the scrolling code at the moment, but this does suggest WB is preparing to market the film. EDIT: After the announcement of the trailer for Thursday, they updated the site. Apparently it will show you a different set of clips based on the time of day and whether you pick red or blue pill. Also, they spent time recording the two actors voicing hours and minutes
