I don't even want to watch this full review (he didn't watch any other indy film than Raiders) but screw what he says about the score. It's the typical thing an unmusical person who wants to hate the movie beforehand would say about the score. 'John Williams score is... whatever'. And then ranting about his Oscar nominations. Shut up, the Sequel Trilogy brought me 5 years of joy.

The bit at 1:15 in the Light Show. It has such a weirdly comforting quality to it. The whole movie just stops to dazzle us with light and motion. Even the characters in the movie are just watching the show; it’s almost communal. Some of the best tone painting he ever wrote.

I think his last gem so far is the entire sequel trilogy, which is excellent from start to finish.

This is actually quite reassuring! Critics are clearly on a different wavelength to what we want as JW fans.

Im sorry, what? The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi have some outstanding action music. A little different from his older style, but still very good. Before that, The BFG has writing every bit as intricate and intense as any action score, just not as loud. He doesn’t deliver four of these a year anymore, but he’s still got it.
