King of Kings is available on a 2 disc set by Rhino and is available in places like Borders, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Tower Records, F.Y.I., Virgin Megastores and Hastings. Plus you can order it online at most of the soundtrack sites that sell scores.

Saw a forgotten little gem with Val Kilmer called Top Secret.

hmmm don't see any tongue.

That's it. For some reason a few years ago UPN & WB were dumped from our cable so the local Fox station started airing WB programs after 9:00pm Central Time so I don't get a chance to watch Smallville as much as I would like to.

Jaws followed by The Imperial March, Star Wars and you should have included the 5 notes from CE3K.
-
If I'm not mistaken there was another episode that had some of JW's music in it as well but I can't remember which one it was.

Someone should have asked Ford if those statements applied to him as well since he made that piece of crap called Hollywood Homicide. The man needs a hit movie, if Indiana jones doesn't do well I would say his career may done.

About 2 weeks ago I watched ROTJ. The last time I watched it was before TPM was released. You can see quite a bit of the flaws that plague the prequels appear. With the exception of the Luke/Vader/Emperor conflict the film comes across a little on the dull side. In SW & TESB the humor was natural, in ROTJ we are subjected to more "forced" slapstick; burps, Ewoks getting shocked in the ass, Ewoks smacking themselves with weapons, torture is poked fun at. The dialogue is ridiculous, Harrison Ford is obviously bored with the whole thing, Carrie Fisher is zonked on cocaine(OK that's not George's fault) Billy Dee Williams really has nothing to do, Yoda & Obi Wan are in the film for about a total of 6 mins. Luke & Leia's situation is handled poorly as is her love scenes with Han. Mon Mothma and some of the rebel leaders could have had larger roles, too many muppets at Jabba's palace, the song and dance number ugh.... What could have been a grand finale comes across as a major disappointment. Williams score is top notch, the visuals are great but unfortunatley those alone can't carry a picture. The problem is Lucas and Gary Kurtz parted ways, Lucas hired a puppet director and he wanted to end it all on a happy note which is fine but at least have the guts to sacrafice some happiness. As far as Vader turning good I have mixed feelings on that as well but perhaps the duel with his son on Cloud City changed Vader and he began to rethink his life, choices etc. But thanks to a poor effort in story telling we will never know. Maybe that was something that could have been addressed in ROTJ as well. Well let's see SW & TESB were good, ROTJ was so-so. TPM & AOTC were average so maybe this time around the third film will be good.

I dunno what score you're listening to but it doesn't sound like ST:TMP. The Swarm has more in common with Alien than Star Trek.

I believe the cue that's missing is the slow percussion buildup as Eric crosses the bridge and the Pteranodon comes thru the fog just as Grant realizes they are in the cage.

I think I might know what he is trying to say. The Decca album is the actual score from the movie. It contains the actual tracks used in the film. Now some of the tracks were altered, edited or not used in the film. The MCA album is a re-recording of cues Williams selected and expanded upon for the soundtrack's release back in 1975

I wonder what scenes will be restored? Most of the extra scenes on the laserdisc box set were incomplete. I know there is the scene where Ripley finds Dallas in the cocoon, that one was complete I believe. What he should have done was restore Goldsmith's score.

-Mark, who just drooled all over his key board.

James Horner to score Gibson's "The Passion" (2004
Ollie replied to Pelzter's topic in General Discussion
Actually this would be film I would love to see Goldsmith score. I know he admitted in an interview awhile back that he wished he could have scored Schindler's List. I think Jerry needs to step away from the whole Star Trek-Sci-Fi-Military type of films and maybe try something along the line of films that rely more on the human drama aspect. I imagine Gibson is using Horner because he's worked with him before and probably feels comfortable with him. From what I've read Gibson has been showing the film (I'm not sure how much is finished) to certain religious groups and at this time does not have a distributor for the film. He has reportedly spent 30 million of his own money to make the picture. -

These might not be worded correctly: "Why does the phone always ring when you're in the bathtub?" "You were followed again....In spite of those cat like reflexes." "And Otis my boy, the next time put my robe on after I'm out of the pool." "First drink is on me, let me get my hat." "I'm altering the deal, pray I don't alter it any further." "Don't fail me again, Admiral." "I think my eyes are getting better, instead of a big dark blur I'm beginning to see big bright blur." "Don't worry you're not missing anything. I used to live here you know." "You're gonna die here you know, convenient." -

And the new Varese Sarabande CD-Club CD's are....
Ollie replied to #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal's topic in General Discussion
Originally Fox was going to release a cd that contained Goldenthal's logo, 40+mins of Predator and 20+ mins of Die Hard but it never materialized. Then FSM and Varese took over releasing the Fox library. I think MCA still owns the rights to Alien 3. -Mark, who will now toss his Predator B**T ou the window. -

Raiders and 1941 are tops for me with Superman a close second.

It's always good news when a release date is moved up. If there were going to be expanded scores released I'm sure we would have heard something by now so I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for them. I'm so glad these are finally vailable on DVD, I'm getting tired of having to get up and flip my Laserdiscs over to the next side.

http://www.varesesarabande.com/News.asp Wonder if Predator will finally see a legit release or will any Williams scores be in this batch.
