The CDs with the special edition poster covers were released in 1997. They started to appear in stores during the summer if my memory is right.
While I like the black book sets that were first released, I've been tempted to pick up the poster versions as well.

That's my main problem with the younger generation, (Yeah I'm so old at 35) they are so quick to praise every score or film made after 1990 as the best ever, but yet how many of them have actually watched even half of the films I've listed or listened to a compser other than Williams, Goldsmith, Arnold or Zimmer.
Now this isn't a personal attack against Ender but an observation of what I hear or see around me, not only on the message boards but in public. That comment about the film being made in the 70's kinda set me off because it makes no sense.

So just because Superman is set in the 70's that means films like Psycho, Citizen Cane, It's A Wonderful Life, King Kong(1933), Goldfinger, North By Northwest, Ben Hur etc etc are not deemed worthy either because they take place in the past????
That's a pretty sad statement to make. I hate to tell you this but most of the great films were made during the 50's 60's and 70's.

I haven't had a chance to see the film yet, had to take my wife to the Matchbox 20 concert in Dallas this weekend, so I'll reserve my comments until after I see the movie. But I was watching a special on The Sci-Fi channel and I was suprised to see that Ang Lee himself wore the motion capture suit to provide all the movements and facial expressions of the Hulk for ILM to use.

I'll be honest and say while I would still like certain films such as Star Wars, Jaws, Towering Inferno, Raiders, Jurassic Park and E.T. I probably wouldn't like them as much because the music played a large part in drawing me to those films.
I think I would take the same attitude toward the smaller films he has scored like Stepmom or Stanley & Iris, that I do now. I'm in no big hurry to see them but if they are on T.V. I might watch them.
Then there are some films I wouldn't watch at all. If Williams wasn't involved with Harry Potter I would have never seen either film. Earthquake, JFK, and Nixon fall into this category.
Then there are films that I would probably watch regardless of who did the score, like Presumed Innocent, Born On The 4th Of July, Dracula, or Schindlers List

While Spiderman wasn't perfect it was an enjoyable film to watch. I liked it the first time I saw it and still do. It's one sequel I'm actaully looking forward to seeing.

Actually Kevin that is very well done, if Lucas can come close to capturing what you wrote in his own way then EP III might be allright.
Don't feel bad I got a little teary eyed reading some of it myself when I pictured the images in my head.

Actually its been known ever since Star Wars came out that Obi-Wan and Anakin dueled and Skywalker ended up in a molten pit. I think the novelization for Star Wars mentions it. Even Lucas mentioned it years ago. Of course given Lucas's recent track record for messing up Star Wars, Anakin could get hit by a bus in downtown Courescant and end up as Vader.

My daughter made me an ashtray 8 years ago, even though I don't smoke, and I still cherish it after all these years. Having your kid come in and wake you up on Fathers Day to show you their handmade card is one of those moments that makes a father get teary eyed.

At one time I used to be a big fan of Horner. Now I find him to be extremely lazy. He has shown that from time to time he can do a good score, like Braveheart or be inspired in the case of Titanic. However he hasn't done anything other than Braveheart over the last 15 years that I can say I honestly enjoy.
Other than Braveheart I've pretty much gotten rid of any score he's written since 1988.
Who knows, maybe working with Gibson on a project like this he can pull a miracle.

There are certain movies that can make for a memorable viewing experience and Jurassic Park was one of them.
As much as I love Dinosaurs and Monster films, going to see Jurassic Park was high on my list even if Williams and Spielberg weren't involved. I had read Chricton's book a year or so before the film was released so I was already excited about it. The score was released about two weeks before the film if my memory is right. I had already played it to death, in fact it was the only cd I listened to leading up to the film. It was my first time viewing a film in digital and the system was cranked pretty loud. As soon as Williams score started playing over the opening titles the audience burst into applause. There were 2 women sitting beside me and I swear I thought they were going to jump in my lap with all of the screaming and jumping they were doing.
I saw the film on 4 seperate times that summer. One of my fondest memories was when I took my kids to see it. My Daughter was 7 at the time and she spent the second hour of the film sitting in my lap with her eyes covered while my 5 year old son was amazed and was leaning forward in his seat enjoying every moment of the film.

I can see I wasn't the only one who had nothing to do this afternoon and watched Mothra. LOL
Actually I do have a fondness for Godzilla and Co. That and the Bandai action figure for King Ghidorah is cool.

It does exist on CD, on the Mask Label from Italy. I have a copy and I have no idea if it is licensed from Paramount but it isn't a CDR. You can find it at places like Intrada, Footlite Records.

Actually they sell both regular CDs and un-mentionables of scores. While I've bought mostly models from them I've never had any problems. All of their models and toys are legitimate. I've even been to their store and the salesperson told me that certain cds were not the actual item. Of course they are not the only ones who do it, Footlight, Supercollector etc etc all have their un-authorized CDs. I'm suprised they weren't up fron with you.
I would definitely get my money back.

To me it's more ridiculous to have R2D2 & C3PO appear in the prequels than Chewie. They haven't really served any function other than having something familiar appear and bad comic relief. Yeah Artoo saved them in TPM, but other than that Lucas could have left them out.
Frankly I would rather see a young Tarkin appear since we've seen the Death Star, a little too early. I guess it takes some 20 years to build it. Either that or the Emperor sat on this all powerful weapon for 15-17 years.

I don't think Clemmensen likes Williams too much. I remember years ago when he used to take part in moviemusic.com's Monday night chat he always seemed to be at odds about Williams.

Well done Neil. I would have guesses John Takis or Ricard as being the prankster.
There were a few other tips besides Dexters cue missing that hinted at a joke: I don't recall seeing an e-mail address for Weebo, as far as I know no one ever received their autographs from Williams, not everyone got their A.I. promo, and I'm pretty sure if some members had helped Weebo replace his collection someone would have said something plus I just don't think thre is that much music missing from AOTC.
That was me, I didn't realize I had gotten logged off until I posted it.
