I can only recall ROTJ having the first appearance of the The Emperor's Theme or something similar to it. Now there are some similarities in Hook to his theme especially the sequence when Grandma Wendy tries to tell Peter that he is Peter Pan but I think that's closer to the theme than it supposedly is in Harry Potter.

Also read who they said were possible replacements for Anakin as well. Yeah sure I can see both of those actors fitting in very well. I smell an Oscar for either one. :roll:

I'll hold true judgement until I get the CD but it doesn't sound too diffrent at times from his recent Trek scores even at 30 secs.
I even heard a little First Contact in one cue. Sounds like the opening & End Credits use the same approach as the last two films. Alot of brooding music as well.

By watching the documentaries it's obvious Lucas and his staff care a great deal about the visual aspect but it's a shame that they couldn't put forth the same hard working effort and caring about their film when it came to writing, directing.......

My vote goes to the music editing/tracking for The Lost World. Although I must place some of the blame with Spielberg on that one.

I agree with Neil in that it was a bit of a letdown. Also I think Arnold needs to cool it with the drum machine. To me it sounds intrusive on the Gun Barrel sequence. At times I think he leans to hard on the Bond theme as well. Plus the same problem the TWINE had also appears on DAD, the "techno" music is mixed way to loud so at times its hard to hear the orchestra playing. I think they need to go back and listen to Barry's The Living Daylights and take notice to the mixture of music.
I think one reason that the score lacks a bit is due to the fact Arnold wasn't able to have a hand in writing the title song. So he wasn't able or didn't want to include in the score as he did with Surrender from TND and TWINE's title song.
I won't even comment on the Madonna song, although todays FSM article summed it up for me.
And who is Paul Okenfeld and what has done that warrants these re-mixes on soundtracks????? I'm sorry, what I've heard from him outside of film music does not impress me one bit.

Not everyone sees the same thing in a movie. What is a piece of crap to one person is considerd a masterpiece by another.
You could probably analyze any film and find many meanings to it. I've read an in depth analysis of King Kong (1933) where everything was related to sexual domination by man or lack of sexual confidence by Robert Armstrong's character (Carl Denham). Funny I never got that out of the film but it just goes to show you what a person can pick out.

When I got married this past August we had planned to use Williams as well but my wife and I and most of the wedding party couldn't keep a straight face when the Throne Room was played so we ditched it in favor of traditional music.
We did use For Always for our first dance.

I'll be getting Die Another Day, Harry Potter and COS, AOTC DVD and LOTR Special Edition DVD. Then I'll go home and cry when I look at my Credit Card Balance.

Well even though I'm somewhat suprised at the release, it's Williams and I like the score so I'm getting it.

It would be nice if Paramount let Shatner go back and redo alot of the visual effects for the DVD 2-disc Special Edition. That might make the film a little more watchable. It has the worst visuals I have seen in years.
Great Goldsmith score though.

I thought Tom Baker had passed away, didn't realize he was still with us. Now that I think about it, he would be a good choice.

Well since I've already seen AOTC several times I would get Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets sine I have yet to listen to it. But like a few others have stated I won't have that problem cause I will have more than $20.00 to spend and I'll be getting many things on the 12th, especially with Varese announcing their new club releases Monday the 11th.

No offense to Peter O'toole but everytime I try to picture him as Dumbledore I get this image of a eccentric disheveled drunken wizard holding a bottle of scotch telling Harry he needs to get out and loosen up a bit. LOL
I would go with Patrick Stewart.

The only ones I don't have are both Gerhardt cds, the McNeely Re-recording of Jaws and the new Harry Potter score.
So if there is 48 Cds, I have 44 of them.

The California Highway Patrol still wears those same uniforms. When my wife and drove out to Los Angeles this past September for our honeymoon we were passed by a CHiP on his motorcycle. I started laughing cause as soon as he passed me the theme song popped into my head.

I kinda like the live version as well cause all of the applause gives me the feel of watching it in a theatre.
Nothing beats the original though.

At least both films had better special effects than Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
