  1. I can’t even imagine the logistics of trying to put this together. Different studios, record labels, estates.... This was something I mentioned several years ago or so as a possible box set I’d like to see released.
  2. Comparing the track list for both LLL releases of the PA, I can see some questions arising regarding the main and end titles and sources used. Hopefully not as ugly as it got over at FSM when the first LLL PA came out. I’m half asleep, but it looks like The Alternate End Title is missing on the newer release.
  3. Cool, one of my predictions came true, several years later. Never thought I’d be triple dipping for The Poseidon Adventure. I have the FSM Towering Inferno and Varèse release of Earthquake. Never had the original TI album though. Also noticed the actual score for Earthquake is more sparse than I recall. Also looks like I’m triple dipping for Stargate.
  4. Varèse shipping department see’s Crocodile’s order....
  5. Isn’t the film version of the hijacking just tracked / looped music?
  6. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/batman-composer-danny-elfman-says-turning-down-prince-was-biggest-most-stressful-gamble-of-his-career-192951834.html
  7. I’m indifferent to the music. I don’t have Disney+ but judging by the previews, this show seems a bit more quirkier than your standard Star Wars fare. I’d say it was more essential for Solo and Rogue One to have a more traditional musical sound, especially the latter since it segues directly into Star Wars. I really enjoyed his Black Panther score though. That could have really gone the generic, modern route but thankfully they had sense not to do so.
  8. No matter how bad it sucks the Snyder fanboys will claim it a masterpiece.
  9. yep, it sure did. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/charlie-angels-fell-grace-box-144129679.html
  10. They’re no more embarrassing than some who post at a message board dedicated to a film composer.
  11. Unlike most of Emmerich’s films, TOD is actually a very good movie, 2nd best IJ film.
  12. Well they did forget “Oobie Doobie” and “Magic Carpet Ride” on the expanded release. I don’t have my cd in front of me. Did they use first gen material? If not, maybe they found better sources.
  13. Funny, the previews never mentioned Emmerich’s involvement. I didn’t even know he had a new film in production. But then again, there’s supposedly a new Charlie’s Angels film coming out next week and I haven’t seen ANY advertisement for it at all.
  14. Yeah this never should have been made. The original film was fine and didn’t need a sequel.
  15. I’m sure the Black Friday will be good. Probably means they will be single score releases, no box sets or 3 disc sets.
  16. Still in talks? I thought it was already “done deal” that he was supposed to do a new trilogy, unrelated to the Skywalker saga. Right now I don’t believe it will ever get made and that we will get a “going our separate way” press release sometime after TROS is done with its theatrical run. Then it will be announced Kevin Feige’s film will move into that slot.
  17. Word is Toho wants to do their 4K (and / or Blu-ray) release separately. Looking at screen caps taken from the Criterion set, they don’t appear to have the bluish look that the Toho Blu-rays and Kraken releases had, nor do they have the slight cropping either. The images look a bit more natural but not as good as they could have been. Amazon US and Barnes and Noble have it marked down to $112.49. Plus, if you are a Barnes and Noble member, you’ll get another 10% off.
  18. Sources used over the years for King Kong vs Godzilla were never that great to begin with as I believe the original material Toho had was suspect or lost. However, I believe Toho was able to locate the original elements and struck a 4K print but would not provide it for Criterion to use.
