If only 'Reincarnation of Peter Proud' was a horror movie...i'd wet my pants and declare it a release on par with those damn Potter scores.

Of course it's Star Wars, but it was also another era for record sales. The Titanic soundtrack the same year sold 18 million copies worldwide. In 1992, the song album of The Bodyguard sold 42 million copies (Alan Silvestri made millions of bucks just out of the single cue featured on that album!). Yes, both had major pop singers as a driving force, but nowadays even major pop and rock artists don't sell in those numbers.

Oh, better source material is out there 😉 that's why I was shocked when La La Land's Hook turned out the way it did.

I would say everything was considered, but as you can see, there wouldn't have been room for it!  If we expanded COS To a 3disc set, it would have increased the price.  Increasing the price just for film edits of HP1 music used in HP2 would be pretty silly IMO.

That moment is a wonderful tiny example of Williams doing masterful mickeymousing-like writing, while at the same time enhancing the character and the setting with those churning arpeggio figures in the strings.
 
 
I think Jaws 2, The Fury and Dracula form a sort of trilogy. There is an inherent dark, gothic-like approach which gives all three scores a degree of kinship. Some musical figurations return in all three scores, especially the dirge-like writing of several moments. I always thought it as Williams exploring a kind of "dark side" of his musical personality.
