Actually I've always wanted to try out something like this ever since VSL's MIR came out ! ( I remember that one cost an arm at the time...) Will have to try VSS, and I just saw MIR now also has a demo version ! Looks like I'll give them both a try then Also, I'll add my JW covers to this thread

French Horn Tribute to John Williams [ 2016 REMASTERED ]
Marc replied to Marc's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
So we can only assume he thought the original version wasn't (not sure what the correct term would be) "intense" enough? Or "emotional" enough ? I got used to that insert with time but I still prefer the original version -

Marc replied to Marc's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Thanks man ! This must have been discussed here already but... do we know how that fix insert came to happen ? Like what Steven told JW when he wanted those 4 bars re-scored ? -

Breathtaking cue from the Prince of Egypt

Thanks man ! Yeah that is one fantastic cue I especially like this section, love how the horns are answering the trumpets there and vice versa :
-
How to Train Your Dragon was scored for one of the biggest brass sections I've ever seen, no less than 4 trumpets, 6 trombones, 2 tubas and 12 french horns (!) I re-recorded all of the horns and trumpets from the Counter Attack cue, fun stuff

After 3 years of hard work I'm excited and proud to finally present this progressive epic piece based on the Ocarina of Time soundtrack ! It was done in collaboration with a good friend of mine, and I feel this is the best thing I've done so far Enjoy ! y

Here's the latest episode in my Hn / Tpt cover series ! 9M3A & 9M3B from King Kong (which is probably my favorite score by JNH) Those last cues are absolutely gorgeous As usual I re-recorded all of the parts exactly as they were written ( that is a 8-horn section & 3 trumpets ) plus a bunch of other cool parts

Hans Zimmer - The Prince of Egypt ( Horn/Trumpet cover )
Marc replied to Marc's topic in General Discussion
Thanks guys ! I'm thinking of doing more videos like this since they're really fun to make. If you have any ideas/requests, I'm all ears -
I may not be the biggest fan of Hans' latest works, but The Prince of Egypt still remains one of the most spectacular and moving scores I've ever heard ! One cue in particular, the one that plays during the chariot race at the beginning of the movie, has always impressed me... and I felt it was the time to finally cover it ! I've never seen any sheet music for it out there so I transcribed it, and I must say I got serious goosebumps while recording it ^^By the way this is the Collector's Edition version of Chariot Race, which also includes the (gorgeous) Epilogue
