  1. Now that I have a 19:01 minute wonder called "Water!/The Sword Trick/On The Rope Bridge/The Broken Bridge/Return to the Village/End Credits", I must say that I agree that the bridge music is a critical section as far as the structure of the piece is concerned. But it really doesn't bother me too much me that it was not included, as there seems to be the smallest difference between the ripped quality of this cue and the quality on the album of any of the rips. Not enough to really bother me a whole ton. What I found more bothersome was when I heard that bit of the Short Round theme as counterpoint to Indy's theme, which was meant to go right before that happened on the cd. There is only about 36 seconds missing, but I think it must be one of the top moments on the album. I certainly like it better than the counterpoint that was included. But the DVD rip doesn't bother me too much. I am just too in love with the music to really care. Finally got a complete Temple of Doom edit worked out, and am looking forward to giving it a complete listen. Thanks, Jason! I think Raiders will be next...
  2. Oh, I see. So we really cannot be missing much of this music, with DVD rips and all, given the number of bars. Wait, when you say bars, you do mean measures, right? And does that mean that "Temple of Doom" is just a concert arrangement?
  3. So (being new to this whole Indy music thing), is some of "Sanskrit Ceremony" directly tracked from the track "Temple of Doom", or was the complete "Sanskrit Ceremony" recorded all together, and then just cut up and put in different places? Is the exact same thing repeated in the film more than once, making "Temple of Doom" just a concert suite of sorts? Where do people here think the track fits in best?
  4. Whatever you do, don't listen to Koray about the movie order Either: 4. A New Hope 5. Empire Strikes Back 6. Return of the Jedi 1. Phantom Menace 2. Attack of the Clones 3. Revenge of the Sith Or: 1. Phantom Menace 2. Attack of the Clones 3. Revenge of the Sith 4. A New Hope 5. The Empire Strikes Back 6. Return of the Jedi Either way has merits. I don't think it matters which.
  5. Actually, it's refreshing to find someone else here who hasn't watched every movie on the planet nor heard every score on the planet
  6. I now have a track titles "Deal For The Diamond/The Nightclub Brawl/Fast Streets Of Shanghai/Over The Himalayas/Slalom on Mt Humol/The Village". 16:41 minutes of pure bliss. Thank you for all the info, Jason!
  7. Wow, that is incredible! You know the Indy scores very well, yet you have never heard "Across the Stars"? You really should give it a listen. I'm going to sound really dumb here, but is it Star Wars? You are one interesting JWFan And yes, it is.

  9. Agreed. I certainly like the Hook score better, but like that certain theme usage better in AotC.
  10. So, do you like the melody better in Hook or AotC? I'm sure this has been done before, but hey, it's still a valid question. I have to go with AotC, perhaps because I heard it first. It always sounds like a more natural setting, and I love the way it compliments and is complimented by the secondary theme in Across the Stars. So, what do you think? Which is better?
  11. It is the main release picture. The picture on this wonderful site. It looks like a separate booklet, which I did not get. Did I miss something? It's the photo booklet. There's a page of notes by Laurent, and then 25 pages of pictures from the 4 films. It's nothing fantastic, but if I would get it if I were you. Just checked on iTunes...I have 9 hours of Indiana Jones music. Odd. That didn't come with mine. All I have are four digipacks, one sleeve, one sheet of paper with track titles from all cds, and a case. A case which, I might add, doesn't look like it has any extra room.

  13. What is the item in the right back corner of the picture of this set? I don't remember that being in my set...
  14. The only theme I really hope is continued is the theme for Reepicheep from Prince Caspian. I think it is the strongest theme in the series.
  15. Very good news indeed. Depending on the route the film makers decide to take, the story could provide some excellent musical opportunities.
  16. Is there a complete cue list of Temple of Doom with all the 8M1 sort of things that would be in John's score?
  17. Are you talking about 1:27 - 1:31? I asked what that theme was, and Mr. Breathmask said it wasn't a theme. Now that I think about it, though, I think it is exactly the part of the song I just said would have been good if Arnold had worked into the score! Cool!
  18. Like I said, pretty generic, but I could see it being the case. I think they might be the same note, a couple octaves apart. Not sure on that, though. I most certainly do not have perfect pitch Anyone else like the part in the song at 2:16 - 2:43? I think it could have been used nicely in the score.
  19. Well now, that is an interesting possibility. They are both pretty generic, but they also certainly both resemble moments in the song. Could be. If anyone wants track times, it is "Oil Fields" at 1:01 - 1:14, though the little motif keeps on appearing throughout as well, and "I Never Left" at 0:26 - 0:32. I heard the film edit of the song, and it is, in my opinion, much worse than the album presentation, which I halfway like.
  20. I like the way "You Know My Name" keeps coming up in QoS, and I agree that the soundscape of QoS does a very god job in keeping with CR. Does anyone else think Vesper's theme is handled far better in QoS than in CR? I can't really explain why I feel this way, but it strikes me as far and away better, whereas it always seemed mediocre in CR.
  21. Interesting. I really don't think the score suffers too much from the lack of a song melody in it. I think it actually has better continuity with Casino Royale because of this, and the two work together very nicely. I would have liked just slight, restrained musical references to the song in the score, but I liked how the score did not try to be different than Casino Royale. I also think that Quantum of Solace his just as good 'highs' as Casino Royale, and far far better quiet moments, making for a far better complete listen.
