Indiana Jones: The Soundtracks Collection (official Thread)

You WHAT-ED your box?!?!? But, but, but it is so nice looking... -
The Living Daylights is your favorite Bond Barry score? What is your favorite Bond score, regardless of composer?
-
Hmm, I really like that picture, Bowie. Nicely said.

Do you listen to John Williams's music every day?

Good post, Wojo. I pretty much agree with you. I think somebody needs to come up with a definitive classification system for music genres. Classical just doesn't cut it, and it always bothers me for people to toss that term around. Actually, many of the terms are too much based on people's shifting opinions. Both 'classical' and 'modern' need to be thrown out the window, along with romantic, probably... -
The Asteroid Field and Desert Chase

Asteroid Field. -
Best point made in the whole article Hmm, I disagree. Just because a score is completely orchestral and big, doesn't mean it isn't also subtle. Of course, there is also some wonderfully subtle music being written today, as well.

It would be really funny if the mods decided to lock this thread at the end of page 99.... -

This whole 'classical' music thing is just plain silly. Classical was a period of music, with Mozart being the center of it. Obviously, the word 'classical' has come to mean much more than that, and basically be a catch-all for music that is at least 90 years old or so. But to say that film music isn't classical music is just the same as saying that ballet isn't classical music. Oh, and on SL being accepted as 'serious' music thing, I think that is kind of odd, since the theme is one of the more 'easy listening' melodies he has written. Doesn't it seem like those people should be parading things like Images or WotW? -
Which JW theme is your all-time favorite?
Desplat13 replied to Jessie Lohner's topic in General Discussion
Jurassic Park, the four-note theme. -

Yes, and tell them that if they can't do a release right, they should forget it. I don't care if I get extra music, if it is not perfect, than don't waste my time! Oh, and everyone remember to sign the complete prequels petition! -
That's....terrible.

By the way, and I know I am about a page and a half late, but I agree with whoever didn't like the design on the original three score's cds. It looks bad; like, really bad. But it doesn't bother me. I just wanted to get in on the argument. -

Hey, great to see you around here again! The board has missed you. Hope things are going well with you, and that you will get the chance to drop by and post a little more often. -
Quint, I am not saying that words like "Jesus" and "God" should be filtered. I am just saying that they offend me when used wrongly. And yes, I am used to being offended. But to tell you the truth, I have carefully questioned whether or not I should be a part of this forum because of that very problem. I am just saying that I find that problem far more offensive than childish profanities. That is my stance, like it or not. And sorry to have opened this can of worms, Marc. I just wanted people to know why exactly I have a problem with profanities.

I liked QoS. Spiderwick was in '08, wasn't it? That was pretty cool. And yes, of course I liked KotCS.
-
By the way, the profanity that actually bothers me is not what many consider to be the most vulgar. Those words come and go with the times, and if people want to be childish about it, fine. But there are words, and more importantly word usages, that have been around for a long, long time, and that go against my personal religious beliefs to say. These bother me. The rest is just, well, childish.

I think that is the way GoodMusician usually does his edits, so that the combining is left up to the listener. He just gives them all the tools, and lets them arrange it the way they want to. Is the "Duel of the Fates" that appears on that score tracked from TPM, or is it a new recording?

I think it's top 5 for me. Maybe top three...
