  1. Disc 1: Titanic Disc 2: Back To Titanic Disc 3: Titanic in 5.1 Disc 4: The Best of Pan Pipe Moods
  2. And what annoys me is that people such as yourself limit the definition of music to orchestral music. That's just insane in the literal sense of the word. I didn't mate, scoring refers to the craft of multiple instruments composed and orchestrated for various ensamples. Songs have a melody and a couple of chords and electronic music is put together with an electronic sequencer. Scoring refers to music composed specifically for a film or production, whether by a full blown orchestra, a pianoman or some guy on a kazoo.
  3. You can't arbitrarily decide what a score is based on whether or not you like it.
  4. They should give this to Paul Verhoeven and Phil Tippett. And have Goldenthal score it.
  5. They should fire Newman and buy the rights to the Flint scores,
  6. True, but that lifecycle change was introduced in the third film. I wonder if Ridley will embrace it.
  7. Yeah, the grown-up version. Behind the opaque dome (which Cameron removed for his aliens) is a humanoid skull.
  8. I wonder whether this will explain why the original alien had a partially-human skull.
  9. According to Spielberg last year, yes. I'm just as excited by the Universal monsters, especially BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN.
  10. Droolworthy. http://collider.com/kill-a-mockingbird-frankenstein-jaws-movie-restorations-universal-100th-anniversary/136744/
  11. ROADHOUSE is amazing. RENEGADES is ok I guess. I'm disappointed track ten of the former is not called 'I Used To Fuck Guys Like You In Prison!'
  12. I don't count songs because, with obvious exceptions, they're not generally created to serve a film. It's like Tarantino and his Morricone obsession. It sticks out like a sore thumb and it just makes me think 'Dude, if you jizz over his music this much, get him to write a freaking score for you.'
  13. Arnold says it was Mendes' decision, although mentions working on 50th anniversary stuff (expanded scores?) http://t.co/yeprplkT
  14. I think it happens too often - repurposing another score for whatever needs (yes, you Tarantino). It can certainly work, but I sometimes wonder why, especially with something like VERTIGO, which is at least known to film nerds if not the general populace. It can be pretty jarring to watch a movie and hear a piece of film music you're familiar with (although admittedly I rehaven't seen the film in question), although at least it does feature original score as well. That said, Novak's comments were a bit OTT, but I can understand them, even if she is a bit nuts.
  15. Well, when I read this at the end of the piece a little tear formed in my eyes... Me too. A beautiful sentiment.
  16. I agree, Trent's work is fantastic. *See, I can echo that sentiment without having to pointlessly denigrate someone else's work.
  17. I remember reading JW being pissed that they put it out with his name as the producer.
