James Bond 23: Skyfall FILM Discussion

Given Mendes' career history with Newman, I'm in no way surprised with this. Sad though, I thought Arnold was doing fine work with the Craig 007's.- 819 replies

What Is The Last Film You Watched? (Older Films)
Charlie Brigden replied to Mr. Breathmask's topic in General Discussion
The giant animatronic Bat scene is one of my favourite scenes from a Bat-film, it's criminal it was cut. I've made my peace with the film, objectively it's not very good but I enjoy it. And the music really is great. -
Start at the beginning: BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS, WOLFEN and KHAN. Then maybe something like HONEY! I SHRUNK THE KIDS.

Disappointing about B&R. I wonder what the issues are. -
They'll release it complete, but it'll have a pickle from BK in the main sandwich, instead of being in a separate tray.

Duh. Because he's the thing everyone liked most. Even people who hated it said Maul kicked ass. -

The original GONE IN 60 SECONDS. It's better than the Nicolas Cage shitpile, and it has a decent style, but it's not brilliant or anything. -

The problem with SIN CITY for me was that Rodriguez was too slavishly faithful. It worked for the look, even though it sometimes looks cheap, but because the script was verbatim from the comics it sounded awkward and stilted, like he took GL directing lessons. -

The trouble is they often spend so much on creating the visual landscape that the other elements are given less consideration. Ridley's genius is being generally able to marry them together. -

I think he gets a lot of undeserved flak. I like SR as well, and I like the thought put into his X-movies (the second being one of the best comic book movies around). It's a bit of a shame Superman kept him from making the third, which was a shocking drop in quality. -

I'd argue he had a very good track record after the X-MEN flicks. It was the success of the second that got him the Superman job, if I remember. -
