  1. Yes. I mean, the Tintin themes are good, but I don't think they're half as good as KOTCS. Then again, I know I'm in a minority with Call of the Crystal.
  2. At least they're consistent, which is something you usually can't say for Star Wars. *pictures someone writing letter complaining about card* Dear George, I find it very disappointing that you, like Lando Calrissian to Han Solo on the gas giant of Bespin, have betrayed myself and thousands of other Star Wars fans who also have birthdays by including Kevin Kiner's "Main Title from The Clone Wars" in the card I received from my parents yesterday. While I agree my parents were thoughtless in the first place (who gets a forty-two year old man a CLONE WARS card?!), the disgusting fact that you PERSONALLY decided to include the aforementioned case of musical rape in the rightful place of John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra's "Main Title From Star Wars" (© 1977 Fox Fanfare Music) is another kick in the tauntauns after your sickening idiocy in not releasing the original unaltered trilogy on blu-ray. As of this day, I will no longer be purchasing anything with the Star Wars logo on ever again, at least until this abhorrent mistake is reversed. MTFBWY, P.S. Okay I might change my mind if you release a Slave Leia action figure with removable bikini.
  3. JOHN CARTER, first time on my stereo. I love the score, but the CD mix sounds a bit muddy and muted. On headphones it's ok, it just seems a little underwhelming through proper speakers.
  4. When I hear Tintin's theme I think of Allo Allo. When I hear the Raiders March I think of Harrison Ford being punched. Indy wins!
  5. You're right, dialogue is much more appropriate. "That's no way for a man to die. A parachute not opening... that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine... having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go!"
  6. I was in Asda yesterday looking for a card for my sister's birthday. I picked up a card with Superman on the front and when I opened it a little speaker blasted out the John Williams theme. It even has the credit for JW on the back. Maybe this could be the start of a new line. You could have a congratulations card that plays Ewok Celebration, or a sorry you're leaving card that plays the end of Adventures on Earth, or a condolences card that plays Ben's Death.
  7. BLACK SUNDAY. Fantastic. I love the way this sounds, it reminds me of some of the non-thematic work from JAWS and STAR WARS. But it was a bit odd at first hearing that theme and thinking "Where have I heard that before?" only to realise it was used in the trailer for TMP.
  8. Just like EMPIRE is just the Imperial March over and over again.
  9. SUGARLAND. Honestly, I know very little about the others, but I very much enjoy the footwarmer of that one.
  10. HOOK. It was rubbish... No, seriously, this is a fantastic score and I'm glad I'm finally able to appreciate it. I used that Yor guy from FSM's tracklist because it seemed to appropriate the film order (although I didn't edit) and the alternate version of prologue. Really loved it, really lyrical and exhilarating, and I can see why this is considered a massive score for JW considering the style and its further development in later scores (which was a bit distracting occasionally, because I heard Potter and AI in there, obviously an evolution of that sound but which I'm more familiar with. Oh, and the AOTC love theme!). I need to give it more listens, but it's really great stuff. JOHN CARTER Amazing. The track 'John Carter of Mars' has become an instant classic in my mind. Oh, and the 'exit music' was great, a lovely homage to scores of old (and Alfred Newman). Wonderful.
  11. That's just to ward off intruders. LeBlanc: What are you doing in my house? Burglar: I'm robbing you, sonny. LeBlanc: That's what you think! *plays 'We Don't Want To Grow Up'* Burglar: Not Leslie Bricusse! *runs*
  12. I just find the poster kind of drab, all the browns and greys, reminds me of Jeunet's aliens. Much prefer the art GNP used (on both releases). Karol is right though, it's very GNP. They should've just used a screengrab of Deanna Troi getting drunk.
  13. My "promo" has 'All The Time' as going between 'The Escape Pods' and 'Flight of the Phoenix'. I guess escape pods is 'New Orders'.
