  1. I don't mind the cover. It's not the worst (that still goes to LLL's Final Frontier). That one really does look like a bootleg.
  2. Newman should write it with Adele. She has a proper good voice so I think she'd work well, back to the days of Bassey and all that.
  3. I'd like to but I don't have the cash. I have some I've bought on mp3, but CD wise I only have THE INCREDIBLES, RATATOUILLE, STAR TREK and JOHN CARTER.
  4. Probably JOHN CARTER. I'm going to sit down with HOOK later this afternoon.
  5. The other scores I did order from SAE (which also shipped mega-quickly) were lovingly bubble-wrapped.
  6. I should hope not. I ordered direct from LLL. It came in a padded envelope with bubble-wrapped lining, but was not bubble-wrapped in of itself. I guess until we're royalty like LeBlanc, we'll just have to make do with shrink wrap.
  7. Mine arrived as well. Perfect condition, apart from a creased corner on the booklet's back cover. I didn't get any dip with it though, so I emailed MV and he's sending me out a replacement jar of Sour Cream and Chives immediately, free of charge.
  8. HOOK finally arrived, together with my SAE haul: STAR TREK IV, STAR TREK VI, THE BLACK HOLE, JOHN CARTER, ALIEN, LOGAN'S RUN and BLACK SUNDAY.
  9. HUNGER GAMES. It was pretty good, but not brill. Don't see what all the fuss regarding Horn of Plenty is about either.
  10. No, I don't doubt that part. Never said I do, either! But again, the fact that this release was "supervised and approved by John Williams" doesn't exclude the possibility that there was problem with the original material too! The volume issue is just an example. Well no. This is also an issue with blu-ray, because of the marketing and the technology and what we've seen previously, some of us almost expect the picture or the sound to be pristine, which in many cases is not only unrealistic but nevertheless something some cling to.
  11. I'm kind of glad I had no real love for the score or film beforehand, it'll probably make many of the "issues" irrelevant. Hopefully it'll be here tomorrow, chomping at the bit.
  12. And now in you're in a JG mood, aren't ya? Anyway, I am not blaming anybody. I was just wondering aloud, responding to ETandElliot's post. I am probably the last one to complain about this release. God knows, I don't much care whether some minor cues are missing or not. My thought was, like somebody else here said, that the material they had to work with was somehow not up to their high standards (was it not properly stored by Sony, etc.)? If that's the case, we can forgot about a better release in the future. Some problems will always remain. And that's something we will never know for certain, unless somebody at LLL or JW directly addresses this issue. I am not going to blame anybody unfairly, based on assumptions and hearsay. There's no hearsay about it. The LLL press release says "supervised and approved by John Williams". I don't see how that's even open for interpretation. I didn't mean to say you're personally blaming, it's just deja vu that people at many places are giving flak for the release seemingly without thinking about things.
  13. It depends on how much responsibility you place on the person that has final product approval.
  14. Again, I said, in part sure, but not entirely! And that's what I meant. My idol? And your idol is who? Hans Zimmer? Jerry Goldsmith or JW, depending on the mood. I feel great pity for LLL though, especially MV given how long he's worked to bring US this project.
  15. We've been told JW had to approve it multiple times. There's nothing silly or lazy in Incanus' comments. It sounds like you're looking for someone to blame here, and don't want to face the fact the person responsible is your idol.
  16. Unfortunately not. I rarely get to go to the cinema and sadly I missed TINTIN.
  17. I like THE MIST the best. SR and GM are both good but I prefer his horror stuff. I've been a fan since he wrote some great 80s horror flicks like ELM STREET 3 and THE BLOB.
  18. Got the blu for a first time watch. Wonderful film, made me appreciate the score more.
  19. HOOK from LLL direct. Also have a seven title order at SAE that's been held up because they're out of JOHN CARTER.
