Being a California citizen, I usually try to order from there to save on 9% CA sales tax, since LLL and Intrada and Varese are ALL CA-based and have to impose that on their purchases for me. I forget where MovieMusic is based, but it's not CA. The only times I don't order from there are if one of the labels offers signed copies of something MovieMusic obviously won't have, or if I simply can't wait. So, for this, I am ordering directly from LLL.

WESTWORLD - spoilers allowed for all aired episodes

I think it helps that Crichton's original film inspired the basis of the vision, and I think they not only kept a lot of its DNA to please its original fans, but because many of its ideas simply worked so well. I do have to admit that they expanded upon all of his ideas beautifully, and I bet if he were alive to see it, he would have absolutely loved it. It's one of the best adaptations any of his works have ever received. -
I don't think the cost in this case is just for the physical product or amount of discs... its for the number of minutes of music paid for in the transaction for these particular scores. These aren't just any scores they had to acquire... they are Williams scores from Spielberg films. They had to be a much higher price tag that ultimately has nothing to do with the physical count of discs themselves, but for the 5,000 unit division cost to make up or break even for what was paid.

For these two scores, I intend to listen exactly as it is for both. Since both scores feature new mastering, I want to see how ALL the tracks sound, now, in addition to what is new. It is kind of thrilling to just hear it in sequence on a first listen, as if for the first time, knowing and anticipating that what feels familiar at first will eventually be different than how I know it. In terms of JP, it will happen right away with the "Incident and Isla Nublar" cue ending as it should, and going off from there. Although I am a much bigger fan of JP's score, I admit that hearing TLW will probably be a much more thrilling new experience (since almost all of my most-wanted unreleased JP cues already came out in 2013). However, there is still that totally unknown JP "Saboteur" cue that is one of the most anticipated of all, despite its brevity. I imagine it could maybe echo the "Dennis Steals The Embryo" cue a bit, but who knows? After I listen to everything fully, I plan to reorganize JP at least to be in the order I want. Meaning: Put "Stalling Around" where it belongs in sequence instead of as a bonus track, likely put the concert version of the main theme at the start of the whole score, maybe omit that film version of Welcome To Jurassic Park (or the other one), and likely add the "My Friend The Brachiosaurus" concert theme as a bonus. Despite it not being Williams music, I will perhaps add as a bonus that Mexican source music heard when Dennis is talking to Dodgson, and will definitely throw in the music specifically made for the film's memorable teaser trailer.

Stoked and amazed for this release, still! And extremely happy to have it all-but-confirmed that we finally have ALL the music from BOTH films! However... anyone notice the Rex logo for JP has no teeth in the stock image of the booklet, to the right? LOL Hopefully this isn't the case in the final product!

I kind of have no words to really display just how amazed and excited I am for this release. The few who know me here I think can imagine why, if my avatar and signature don't make it all obvious enough. Even though JP was almost complete in the 2013 digital release, it was only digital, afterall. Being my favorite score to my favorite film, of course, I still wanted those missing few minutes! Btw, what is "the Saboteur"? I don't remember that being one of the missing cues. Perhaps my late-night mind is fuzzy. While I am not as familiar with what was left off the album of TLW, I do know just from looking at the track list that it has all the music I had been waiting for to finally hear from it outside the film. Both the film and the score grew on me a lot over the years since it came out (when I saw it as a kid, I honestly was disappointed, oddly enough). I still hope Jurassic Park 3 and Jurassic World get expansions someday on their own, but it was a good choice to pair these two together, only. This is the release of not just the year for me, but the decade... and the past two decades...

Honestly, when I first saw the images on their Facebook and the title before expanding it, I thought it was simply a release of Jurassic Park and freaked out for a little bit and immediately messaged like 10 people. But then I actually LOOKED closer and saw it also had The Lost World, freaked out again, and messaged the same people back. They're all sleeping. -

Oh yeah, I didn't say it was surprising, but it was just so well played out. They made the reveal pretty chilling, mostly thanks to Hopkins! Sometimes knowing what is going to happen next is almost worse for me, because you either don't want it to, or are just waiting on edge for it to finally erupt just as you hoped for. -
