I'm confused...it says those are DVDs.
It's a boxed set for about 25 dollars on amazon.com that has both the Jurassic Park and Lost World DVDs *and* their respective soundtracks (plus other things apparently, like a film cell). For 25 dollars it's a pretty great deal for all four of those things plus the cool box. So in reality, you are getting the 2 soundtracks for only about 13 dollars. And yes, The Lost World soundtrack in this box does come in a regular jewel case. The covers for the soundtracks in this set look just like the DVD covers do, but they still come with the Spielberg note inside. Well except for The Lost World, which he never noted. Does anyone still find that odd?

Amended Cue List & Missing Cues!
Well, seems I wasn’t 100% right on my cue list as some have pointed out. I finally recieved the Intrada CD and it appears this is what the real deal is. Good and bad. First here is what really is missing from Intrada:
(the following 3 cues are no more than 30 seconds long)
*The Baseball- the cue that plays when the next door neighbor kid hits the ball into the attic, setting off the shrink machine
*The Shrinking Starts- the cue where I believe the shrink machine shrinks the furniture
*Ron and Nick- the cue where the machine shrinks Ron and Nick
*A New World (first 35 seconds)- the opening 35 seconds of this Intrada track are for some reason snipped off.
*Quark to the Rescue- the cue where the kids are in the backyard whistling for their dog to come to them and where they climb the flower and Nick falls in it
*Bees!- the cue when the two kids fall on the bee as it flies around all over the yard
*A New Pet- I believe this cue is after they find the giant cigarette and claim Anty as their new pet
Basically there are two changes to the above list from before. As I noticed from the track times at Intrada before the CD had started shipping, A New World is shorter than the film version/bootleg cue by about 35 seconds. It cuts off the very beginning of the cue. Why? I have no idea… it seems pretty random for them to do it. Luckily, for those who have the bootleg track for this, it will be pretty easy to use the bootleg’s opening and mix it to attach to the Intrada track. Or if you don’t care about Intrada’s better sounding quality for the track you could just use the entire bootleg track, but I would do the former. Still, I find this odd and a little irritating that they cut off 35 seconds for basically no reason at all. But probably only die-hard fans of the score, like me, will miss it and seek out a fix.
The other change to the above list is actually good. You no longer need to have the bootleg track Ant Safari, for it is added to the end of the Intrada track Flying Szalinsky, as someone already pointed out. Although good, for Ant Safari was a nice short cue, it is also weird to me that they included it at the end of the track. It does make the cue have two contrasting sides: crazy jazz to peaceful western sound. Chronologically it does belong right after it, so to me there really is no need to split the cue up, but some may say otherwise.
We’re still awfully lucky though. There isn’t much work to be done to make this score complete with the Intrada CD and bootleg. Compared to all the Indiana Jones nonsense, the entire time and work spent to fix it all up would be used to fix just one track on Indy!
lol. You only really need to edit one track and the rest of the unreleased cues you just plop them in the order they go with the rest. The sound quality on the Intrada CD for the most part rivals any of the bootlegs I have heard. It’s usually louder and crisper and you can pick out details more. There were a few tracks however where I didn’t like the mixing choices as much. For example, the Main Title and Lawn Mower. I may actually prefer the bootleg’s mixing in those cases, but the sound quality itself still rivals.
The chronological order of the Intrada CD remains the same:
01- 01. Main Title
02- 02. Strange Neighbors
03- 06. Test Run
04- 03. Shrunk
05- 04. A New World
06- 11. The Machine Works
07- 09. Watering The Grass
08- 10. Ant Rodeo
09- 07. Flying Szalinsky
10- 08. Night Time
11- 05. Scorpion Attack
12- 12. Lawn Mower
13- 13. Eaten Alive
14- 14. Big Russ Volunteers
15- 15. Thanksgiving Dinner
But the complete cue list now looks like this:
01- 01. Main Title
02- 02. Strange Neighbors
03- 06. Test Run
04- *The Baseball
05- *The Shrinking Starts
06- *Ron and Nick
07- 03. Shrunk
08- *A New World (first 35 seconds) mix onto 04. A New World
09- *Quark to the Rescue
10- *Bees!
11- 11. The Machine Works
12- 09. Watering The Grass
13- 10. Ant Rodeo
14- 07. Flying Szalinsky
15- *A New Pet
16- 08. Night Time
17- 05. Scorpion Attack
18- 12. Lawn Mower
19- 13. Eaten Alive
20- 14. Big Russ Volunteers
21- 15. Thanksgiving Dinner
If anyone were interested in any assistance with the missing music, it would be wise to PM me.

Small adjustment: "Ant Safari" is on the album as the last part of the "Flying Szalinski" track. That's actually chronologically correct, so you could theoretically just leave it as is, but just for clarity's sake:
Hahah, I so called that...
Oh, whatever, jerk!
:P -
I received my copy today.

Fantastic sound.
When did you order it? I only ordered it the day after they announced it. Still havent gotten a call back.
BS -
So am I! They still haven't even charged me for it! I even called them and all I got was a voicemail!
They need to keep people more informed what is going on with their orders.Did you order from Intrada as well?
-
It's a shame there are 2 pages missing. Although remarkable that only 2 are missing out of all of them. I wonder if we will ever see what the two missing pages contain.
The search for the holy grail continues!

-
Psst... I found an HTML version someone put up. They transcribed the PDF file to HTML for easier reading. You can see it below:
-
I don't think Intrada charges until they ship. And even then it still may take a few days to show up on your card. I received a shipping confirmation on Thursday so I should hopefully have mine by Monday or Tuesday.
Oh, I see. You already received a shipping confirmation? Damn, I haven't yet. But I did order it the 2nd day after the announcement. I bet they go in order of who ordered first, if you did order before me.
I just don't want any... mishaps. lol. I can just picture something happening like "yeah for some reason your order didn't go through and... well they are all sold out now, so you are out of luck!" lol.
You never know.
-
Does anyone know how Intrada works with their service? I still haven't been charged for my transaction. Do they just not charge until they ship?
-
That old bootleg needs to be put in the grave it came from! GAH!
It's better than not having anything at all. I think it's quite good considering.
Well of course I'd rather have it in the current quality it is in than not at all. But I'm sure we'd both agree that the first score deserves a better sounding quality release, either in bootleg form or official.
-
I doubt 2 and 3 will get officially released. MCA still holds the rights for 2 despite it being OOP and Varese holds the rights for 3 and that's still in print.
I hate record companies... lol.
-
Man, what a great week! First the Honey, I Shrunk The Kids score gets an official release from Intrada and now there are complete boots of Back to the Future 2 and 3! And they sound great! Woo hoo! Here's hoping for a official release of these!
But one question remains...
Where the hell is the complete bootleg for Back to the Future?! Or official release for that matter! That old bootleg needs to be put in the grave it came from! GAH!

-
It sort of sucks that this is out of order but can we can easily put that back in order ourselves. That's of course if the cues don't have one that go into each other.
Crap, I forgot about that! I really don't see how they would, they don't really lend to transition themselves. And none transition on the bootleg. So... here's hoping there is none of that!
-
See... "you listen to me, Doc Jones, you live longer!"

And I always told people "if they officially release a score that I have a bootleg of that I really like, I will buy the official release". So for that I knew I had to buy it myself.

By the way, does anyone know how quick Intrada is to ship their products? I ask because there was only one speed of shipping you can get to deliver to the US (and other locations). I've never ordered from them before.
Btw, richuk, and anyone else, someone on the Filmtracks board claimed there is one other small bit of unreleased music. It's right before the part where the sprinklers go off when the kids are split up and walking around. It's like 40 seconds long. I watched the film to see, and I swear it is just an edited statement from "A New World". I don't believe it is on the bootleg, although he claimed it preceded the Sprinklers bootleg track (doesn't on mine). What do you think? Either way it isn't anything I am going to be scrambling trying to get.
-
Since they apparently used the original digital masters, sound quality should be pretty good. This at least is something to look forward to.
Indeed, it is. Oh and I finally ordered it just now from Intrada. No problems at all. Lucky me.
hehehe. -
I tried to order it from Intrada, but whenever I submitted the order, I got an error message telling me that they just changed the shipping prices and the order wasn't placed for that reason ?!? Well, I then ordered from MovieMusic instead (and will probably get 5 CDs from Intrada, one for each failed attempt...
)Looking forward to the CD, but will never understand what these people are thinking when they release -without reason- incomplete scores. I would suggest to not include composers in the process in the future (except for maybe an interview). I sometimes think many composers have the opinion that we don't deserve all the music, or that it is not artful enough to release it in the order it appears in the movie. I understand decisions such at these when there are time or money constraints or pressure by the studio, but here? Please.
I agree with you completely. Then again, I would.

If there was no boot, I'd easily buy it, but it's the absence of that 10 minutes that's available by other means that makes me reluctant to invest in this.I'm listening now to Quark to the Rescue and it's a cue I'd really like to have, but it's not on the CD.
I listened to it this morning as well and agree that Quark to the Rescue will be missed when I get the Intrada CD. It's a very nice underscore track, which there aren't too many of in the score (most tracks are loud and crazy). But to not want the CD because of this omission I think is a bit unfair. Although I am not sure of the sound quality improvement, I am sure it is much better than the bootleg's, and having most of the tracks, and all of the great ones, in better sound quality for only 20 dollars is definitely enough reason to purchase. Especially since it is limited, for a score like this, I'd rather have it than not. You just gotta hang onto a few bootleg tracks is all.
I'm not defending the producers of the CD at all, but I'm just saying I'm still surprised we saw this released AT ALL officially.
-
the Intrada CD track Flying Szalinsky (the part where Wayne spins around on the contraption he made to look for his kids in the grass) seems about 20 seconds longer than the boot.
Perhaps they included "Ant Safari" at the end of the track?
No, I don't think so because "Ant Safari" is about 48 seconds long, it'd be too long to attach after that cue, let alone would be a bit jarring in tone comparison. I guess we won't know for sure about this or the other cue I mentioned being shorter until we get the CD. So I'm holding onto my entire bootleg until I get it just in case.
I am glad that we are able to replace most of the tracks on the bootleg for sure though. I can't wait to hear "Lawn Mower" in remastered CD quality! It has the kind of scary rendition of the main title them with the organ at a REALLY fast tempo! If the the worst thing about this score is that it's not in chronological order then so be it.But that isn't the worst thing about the release. The worst thing is that it is missing 10 minutes.

-
Well, I don't feel so bad then.
hehe -
Would you be so kind and post that in the Chronological Film Score Thread as well, please?
Wish granted.

I hope no one minded me mentioning the bootleg on the forums. Although I may or may not own the bootleg, I am still purchasing this release.
I'm sure the sound quality on it is much more fantastic as well. -
**(Chrono Order and Missing Cues List of HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS)**
DELETED. Read updated list on the following page.

I am so happy about this release! I never thought this would happen!
I am however a little dissapointed that the CD release is not quite complete and VERY out of film sequence. I almost feel like nitpicking it like I first did with the Indiana Jones set release, lol. Luckily though there has been a bootleg around for some time that does feature the complete score, which I may or may not possess. I also may or may not have compared the tracks and track times to this bootleg and figured out what bits aren't on this release. What's missing is not really anything major at all, but should be noted. I could be wrong on some of these, but I'm pretty sure I got it right. The following will make sense for those who may or may not have the bootleg of the complete score.
(the following 3 cues are only no more than 30 seconds long)
*The Baseball- the cue that plays when the next door neighbor kid hits the ball into the attic, setting off the shrink machine
*The Shrinking Starts- the cue where I believe the shrink machine shrinks the furniture
*Ron and Nick- the cue where the machine shrinks Ron and Nick
*Quark to the Rescue- the cue where the kids are in the backyard whistling for their dog to come to them and where they climb the flower and Nick falls in it
*Bees!- the cue when the two kids fall on the bee as it flies around all over the yard
*Ant Safari- short cue (less than a minute) with the kids traveling on Anty
*A New Pet- I believe this cue is after they find the giant cigarette and claim Anty as their new pet
Out of all those cues that appear to not be on the CD, the only two I miss are Quark to the Rescue and Bees!. Neither are entirely engaging or cues that highlighted the score, but especially the latter cue chronicles a significant part in the movie and is a nice and different action track in the body of the score. I don't mind the other missing cues though since they are so short and are mostly restatements of other parts of the score.
Anyone else here think my list is accurate? The only other things I noticed are that the Intrada CD track A New World (the part where the kids enter the backyard from the trash bag) seems shorter compared to the boot by at least 30 seconds, and the Intrada CD track Flying Szalinsky (the part where Wayne spins around on the contraption he made to look for his kids in the grass) seems about 20 seconds longer than the boot. But these could be time errors on the site for all I know, won't know til we get the CD.
I'd also like to mention I may or may not have checked total time against the Intrada CD times and the boot, and the Intrada is indeed missing about 10 minutes total from those cues I listed. Still very strange thing for them to do... obviously a score that is almost exactly 1 hour long can easily fit on a single CD. And with so many complete releases these days it makes it even more strange. I know I'm nitpicking but I can't help it, this is one of my favorite scores. I remember when I saw the movie as a kid and always wanted the music!
One of the first movie I saw where the film music stood out.I also now think I have the Intrada CD in chrono order. When you get it, put it in this order.
01- 01. Main Title
02- 02. Strange Neighbors
03- 06. Test Run
04- 03. Shrunk
05- 04. A New World
06- 11. The Machine Works
07- 09. Watering The Grass
08- 10. Ant Rodeo
09- 07. Flying Szalinsky
10- 08. Night Time
11- 05. Scorpion Attack
12- 12. Lawn Mower
13- 13. Eaten Alive
14- 14. Big Russ Volunteers
15- 15. Thanksgiving Dinner
And for those that may or may not have the bootleg with the same titles I mentioned above, you would stick in the missing bits like this:
01- 01. Main Title
02- 02. Strange Neighbors
03- 06. Test Run
04- *The Baseball
05- *The Shrinking Starts
06- *Ron and Nick
07- 03. Shrunk
08- 04. A New World
09- *Quark to the Rescue
10- *Bees!
11- 11. The Machine Works
12- 09. Watering The Grass
13- 10. Ant Rodeo
14- 07. Flying Szalinsky
15- *Ant Safari
16- *A New Pet
17- 08. Night Time
18- 05. Scorpion Attack
19- 12. Lawn Mower
20- 13. Eaten Alive
21- 14. Big Russ Volunteers
22- 15. Thanksgiving Dinner

Here's hoping for GREMLINS or GOONIES.

...It has got to be ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES.
And it's all because of this scene...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptLD0kCoHG4
Another scene I must quote from the film, although there are many:
Wednesday: I don't want to be in the pageant.
Gary: Don't you want to help me realize my vision?
Wednesday: Your work is puerile and under-dramatized. You lack any sense of structure, character, or the Aristotelian unities.
Gary: Young lady, I am getting just a tad tired of your attitude problem.
LOL
Seriously, if any of you have any sense of humor at all, you must see this movie! And today would be a great day for the Thanksgiving scene alone, as posted above. LOL.

Really? How do you know they cracked their vaults? Just wondering.
And you're right... we probably won't ever see it as an isolated score. Hell, when was the last time they did an isolated score for a DVD? They haven't done those in a long, long time. I guess they were never a good selling point for the "general" buyer.
