Hm, the few autographs of his that I have aren't as readable as that one (like the "o" being so visible in "John" on yours), but that doesn't mean it's fake.

I've just checked the Boston Pops website because they'd announced their next season's dates. I went to May on the calendar and looked at the dates around the end of the month..... and none of the events were Williams. In fact, he's not listed anywhere in the month, and the calendar shows a lot of May already has Pops performances planned already. What's going on??

For a concert-goer, the latter would be the more interesting and enjoyable. Williams does it every year for his Hooray for Hollywood series in Boston. For an average family evening event, a whole film might be more engaging and sense-making for kids.

Although I don't think it's the most popular of scores here, Titanic would be rather interesting, since the score progresses from calm in the beginning to gradually becoming one for an action flick as the ship starts to sink. The only issue would be Sissel's vocals for the main theme. However, with anticipation slowly growing for the re-release next year, it'd be an interesting choice! How do these kinds of performances/screenings work, anyways? You'd need the sheet music for the entire score, and the film with no music.

I know it was discussed earlier, but I didn't see the scene until last night... The DA in the Room of Requirement: the one scene I didn't like. At least, the beginning of it. It felt extraordinarily forced for two reasons: 1. The INCREDIBLY awkward statement of Hedwig's Theme when Neville revealed Harry... it didn't fit AT ALL. 2. The way everyone stood up and started clapping IMMEDIATELY. That scene was my biggest gripe, I think.

WOW... not much to say right now, brain spinning. Still, Quick thoughts: There was a bug going across the projector, and the audience laughed at dumb times. Still, Harry Potter ended brilliantly: a great time with friends and fandom. Some notes: -It really did feel like a Part 2. It started so quickly with so little setup, it threw me off until the beginning of Gringotts. Not used to that for a Potter film, even if I obviously knew it was Part 2. -Dumbledore's backstory... an awkward subplot in Part 1 and 2 that never went anywhere. Just........... wow. Can't wait to see it countless more times!!!!!! As for my costume... These are the best two pics I have at the moment: Got a lot of looks, scared a couple kids, and right when I was about to leave after the movie, two women wanted a picture with me! My whole group of friends dressed up, TONS of fun!!!!!

This may be more a statement than a question, but surely I'm not the only one to have noticed the huge similarities in themes between "The Turbulent Years / The Meeting with Mao" from "Nixon" and much of the Star Wars prequels? There are note-for-note statements of what would one day be "Across the Stars", a bit of "Duel of the Fates", even some Imperial March.

Regarding Luke and Leia variations, I checked out the ones on iTunes and there aren't any that really sound dramatically different besides horrible electronic orchestra ones, a dance remix, and that piano one mentioned a few posts ago.

I think so. Very nice and calming stripped down versions of most of the classics. It is one of the best re-recordings of JWs most lyrical themes with oboe taking the center stage. Truly brilliant reinterpretation by world class musicians. As a bonus JW himself performs the piano solo in the last piece, Days Between from Stepmom. I thought he played the piano on the whole album.
