  1. I was hoping for a method that would not take so long....
  2. How do you people do it? I cannot translate the music in my head to the piano. Is there a certain method you people use?
  3. My Grammy met Yo Yo Ma when she worked at an elementary school in Virginia. She said that he was "humble, very down-to-earth, and he was not selfish about sharing his instruments with the kids".
  4. As I read this thread, I wonder what the expression on Mr. Horner's face would appear if he were reading this right now.... He would prrobably write a response detailing (in much detail) why and how is he so much better than any composer who ever lived, and that we have no place criticising his severely underrated magnus opuses.
  5. I appreciate the attempt nonetheless. Now I understand Irina's plight.
  6. It is wonderful. Ultimately, I enjoyed it more than "Catch Me If You Can" (expect piano arrangements from both, soon).
  7. Batons will be shoved into uncomfortable areas if John Williams sees this.
  8. I have recently purchased the score for "The Terminal", and now I cannot get "The Tale of Viktor Navorski" out of my head. I need to call an exorcist.
  9. I would like another edition because I cannot find the "25th Anniversary Edition". I tried looking at "Amazon.com", but the prices are ludicrous!
  10. I have. Have you ever played the Nintendo Wii game Super Paper Mario (which is a very humorous game, in my opinion)? Piece of...oh. I do not believe I benefit in learning the acronym anymore.
  11. Actually, I find a great number of colliqualisms on this forum that I would have never have seen otherwise, though I am still trying to understand what "POS" means (I find that "Joey" uses it frequently when discussing John Williams' score for Star Wars Episode II: Atack of the Clones). Is it an acronym?
  12. As for "Lucasarts games", I believe that "Mark Griskey" should compose the music. He did a very nice job channeling the "Star Wars vibe" for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, and I have high expectations for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (which should be an excellent game).
  13. I am thinking of the specifics... perhaps a video...?
  14. Last year was Close Encounters of the Third Kind's thirtieth anniversary... why did they not release another edition of its score?
  15. I envy you. I could watch the film for fifteen minutes before I changed the channel to "TNT" in disgust. Fortunately, Jurassic Park (my English grammar book informs me that film and novel titles are "italicised") was showing (with limited commercials). On that note, I like Wayne Knight as "Dennis".
  16. I have a theory on the "surprising" financial success of "Sex and the City". When a female goes to the film theater, they can never go alone: they must always bring a friend along (usually of the same gender), even if that aforementioned friend does not wish to see that particular film. For example, last week, my older sister was forced to view "Mamma Mia!" because her friend simply refused to see Heath Ledger's final performance (which my sister wanted to see). My sister does not like that person anymore.
  17. My opinion of James Horner (which was never truly high) has been lowered, though I have never heard of this "Gabriel Yard".
  18. I am sorry if the above comment read like an accusation to you, Delorean90. I was only making a statement. You have my apologies.
  19. Another villain I really like is Danny Devito in... well, in any villainous role he performs (he is a wonderfully hilarious "sleazeball" in "Matilda"), but "Batman Returns", specifically. I love how he does all these all these horrendous acts, and yet, ultimately, you feel sorrow for him when he dies (I did, anyways).
  20. Burton and Schumacher are in entirely different leagues (Michael Keaton is Batman!). Do not compare them. The same can be said of Elfman and Goldenthal.
  21. I am purchasing the following Compact Discs later today from "Amazon.com", most of which I am embarassed to admit that I have not owned: "Jaws" (2000 release) - I shall now rectify the error of having never owned a John Williams score from the early 1970's. "E.T." (Extended Edition) - I can now stop kicking myself for not owning it. "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" - I have not heard a "traditional" Danny Elfman score for a while. "Serenada Schizophrana" - I have never heard it before. "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" - I have been waiting for an expanded release for years, but I cannot resist the temptation any longer.
  22. Since we are on the subject, does anyone have information about an official expanded release of the "Star Wars: Prequel Trilogy" scores? I have no problem with any of John Williams' work for the prequels, and I would gladly purchase the Compact Discs, so long as they are in the same format as that of the "Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition" releases.
