  1. As I read this thread, I wonder what the expression on Mr. Horner's face would appear if he were reading this right now.... He would prrobably write a response detailing (in much detail) why and how is he so much better than any composer who ever lived, and that we have no place criticising his severely underrated magnus opuses.

  2. Actually, I find a great number of colliqualisms on this forum that I would have never have seen otherwise, though I am still trying to understand what "POS" means (I find that "Joey" uses it frequently when discussing John Williams' score for Star Wars Episode II: Atack of the Clones). Is it an acronym?

  3. Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.

I envy you. I could watch the film for fifteen minutes before I changed the channel to "TNT" in disgust. Fortunately, Jurassic Park (my English grammar book informs me that film and novel titles are "italicised") was showing (with limited commercials). On that note, I like Wayne Knight as "Dennis".

  4. I have a theory on the "surprising" financial success of "Sex and the City". When a female goes to the film theater, they can never go alone: they must always bring a friend along (usually of the same gender), even if that aforementioned friend does not wish to see that particular film. For example, last week, my older sister was forced to view "Mamma Mia!" because her friend simply refused to see Heath Ledger's final performance (which my sister wanted to see). My sister does not like that person anymore.

  5. Another villain I really like is Danny Devito in... well, in any villainous role he performs (he is a wonderfully hilarious "sleazeball" in "Matilda"), but "Batman Returns", specifically. I love how he does all these all these horrendous acts, and yet, ultimately, you feel sorrow for him when he dies (I did, anyways).

  6. I am purchasing the following Compact Discs later today from "Amazon.com", most of which I am embarassed to admit that I have not owned:

"Jaws" (2000 release) - I shall now rectify the error of having never owned a John Williams score from the early 1970's.

"E.T." (Extended Edition) - I can now stop kicking myself for not owning it.

"Hellboy II: The Golden Army" - I have not heard a "traditional" Danny Elfman score for a while.

"Serenada Schizophrana" - I have never heard it before.

"Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" - I have been waiting for an expanded release for years, but I cannot resist the temptation any longer.

  7. Does anyone else have a suspicion that Concord plans to release the Compact Discs for the "Indiana Jones Trilogy" (hopefully to be given the "Star Wars: Special Edition" treatment) to coincide with the Digital Versatile Disc release of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" on the fourteenth of October?
