I like this upbeat piraty melody better than the main low below theme (A theme?), which appears in the refrain and is as far as i know the only part carried over into the film.

Or did you encounter any moments of this B theme in the final film soundtrack?

It was part of the original (unrecorded) version of 5M5 Show Us Your Hook, but was replaced with ‘Stick With Me’ when revised.

    Here’s a mockup from @ragoz350:

That can't be right. The final cut clearly uses a different version of the Force Theme for the shot of Rey floating, than the new version in the clip Chewy shared.

Oh, yes, you’re right. Must be a mistake in GEMA, because it only shows 1M9 Rey Wakes Up before 1M20 Rey’s Training:

    AMH795: Lightspeed Skipping

    AMH856: The Resistance Theme

    AMH857: Rey Wakes Up

    AMH858: Rey’s Training

    AMH859: The Wisdom of Maz

    AMH860: Meditation

    AMH861: Rey’s Mission

The final cut uses a combination of two (1M24 and 1M9).

The November 11th cut does, but the final cut appears to use only 1M9.

As for the earliest version of the cue, 1M3 Nothing Is Impossible? Well, fortuitously, it appears we can hear a snippet of that in the making-of doco!

The sheets leaked for 1M3, and that’s not what’s being recorded there. I believe that’s most likely 1M24 Meditation, which ended up being used only for the second scene with Rey and Leia, which is probably what 1M9 Rey Wakes Up was actually written for, as well as the later 1M13 Tell Me What They Are.

  4. This was only the second CD release I’d ever owned (after Jurassic Park earlier the same year). Disc Three remains my favorite presentation of Return of the Jedi, both for the sound quality and sequencing. It’s essentially the double LP that never was.

Also: kudos to whomever did the mockup of a nine-film Star Wars soundtrack collection boxset, which nodded to the black-on-black look of this set.

Here is the script of the scene, so you can understand its length and the events that unfold.

Whoa, thank you! This provides a lot of helpful context to visualize how this scene would have played out in the film. Are Childhood and Moira’s Lullaby also in the script? I assume the entirety of When You’re Alone was originally.

Would you say the fanfares in "Neverfeast" are related to the "Mothers" theme?

Hmm, not far off, but not quite close enough to be intentional to my ears. But I guess you never know!

The Lost Boys Chase in 'Death of Rufio' seems more clear-cut. The whole theme is there, unaltered, in the trumpets.
