  1. Didn't sound like it. I thought you were making the point that it was all chopped up. I was saying it seemed like it fit perfectly as is.
  2. I am happy it's Newman. He's good, and like a lot of composers his age, can write wonderful, luscious music when given the chance. James Newton Howard is another one. Dudamel I don't mind. It's neither here nor there. I was just surprised it was so important that he'd conduct when they were so symbolic about a New York orchestra performing the score that they went with him as conductor.
  3. I don't care if HE wanted to do it, I wanted him to do it! That's what matters!
  4. Oh, I actually liked that one quite a bit. I only saw it once. Knowing me, if I watched it again, I'm sure I could find tons of stuff to dislike.
  5. I loved Moulin Rouge, didn't see Chicago, Les Mis was good minus Wolverine, La La Land SUCKED. It wasn't even that it was pretentious. It was that it was tonal whiplash. One minute it was doing a bad impression of a golden age musical, and the next it was a cynical modern movie. It didn't blend the two tones into something good and new. It was a salad as opposed to a stew. I hope the arrangements are at least good in WSS. I'm still SO bummed it's not Williams though. Too much history with him and Bernstein to have missed this opportunity. Spielberg should have made that a priority somehow.
  6. West Side Story is one of my favorite things ever. I have no interest in this movie. Why does it exist? Is Spielberg really that arrogant that he thinks the old movie is bad an offensive and only an enlightened mind like him can fix it? That's really what it seems like.
  7. I thought The Great Duel part started during that wide shot in the reactors and went all the way until Qui-Gon and Maul are separated. If I remember correctly, it even still fits there nicely, no?
  8. I still remember WHERE I WAS the first time I heard it. It was one of those.
  9. I'll disagree. The first track finished up and I was totally blown away. Had to listen to it a billion times over and over in trying to arrange it too and never got tired of it.
  10. I'm hoping so. It's almost a personal joke how long it's been taking.
  11. Yeah, that quote was confusing. Did they mean the original KOTOR is part of "legends" when introducing people to what it is, or that the new game will be legends? Seems like its more the latter. PLUS, if they're fully redoing this game, which seems likely since they hired a (Star Wars hating) writer to write the game, then its not just updating the graphics and combat engine, it'll more likely be a full reimagining.
  12. So many do, though. At what point do they not even care and just hope someone can't keep track so they end up having to buy two versions of the same game?
  13. This sucks https://filmmusicreporter.com/2021/09/07/johnny-klimek-tom-tykwer-scoring-lana-wachowskis-the-matrix-resurrections/ "Yeah, but you knew this was likely." Sure. doesn't change that it's the lamest thing ever. Would've been the one promising thing about the movie.
  14. The bummer thing about Ubisoft games is the concepts are always super cool and seem really fun and then they come out of the oven and feel like they're made by robots instead of artists.
  15. We watched this in school way back in the day for some reason. All I remember from it is when the grandma died, because the scene was edited in a way where it looked like she didn't really push the boat at all. Don't remember the score at all. Should be a fun listen, hopefully.
  16. Wii U discs forever! You don't lose those as easily. The edges felt so good to the touch too.
  17. Bummer we didn't get Adventures of Han at Tanglewood. That's one of my favorites in recent years. How was the tempo on it? He conducted it very slowly at the previous Tanglewood, and I don't know if that's his age or because it's just a scorcher in general. He looked so much more energetic this year that I'm wondering if it was faster. Everything was a better tempo this time around.
  18. So I don't know the first thing about Dune. Why is this particular film adaptation of it seemingly expected to be the be all end all of the story?
  19. It is. I was shocked he was asked to do more. Maybe he's a yes man. As much as I like the world Rowling created, around 2005 she seemed like she got too impressed by herself. The books and movies at that point started getting lame and I haven't liked anything else since (like that dopey play and the awfully bland Fantastic Beasts films).
  20. The movies totally lost me after the fourth one...and I don't think it's JUST the lack of Williams music (book 5 was my favorite, btw). I still don't know what "Lilly's Theme" is either. Don't bother, someone sent me a Youtube video actually called "Lilly's Theme" and I still could barely pick it out and forgot it immediately after the video was over.
  21. So obnoxious and confusing. Also, the collector's edition and maybe one or two others don't come with a PS5 upgrade but some do and there's no upgrade here but there's an upgrade there blah blah blah. This is meant to be confusing on purpose.
  22. Like most of my Switch collection, I'll get to it eventually!
  23. I imported it! It came with a Switch stylus too!
