  1. THE MUMMY RETURNS LAUGH! as you realize that the CGIs are actually worse than they were, two years before SMILE WRYLY! at the sight of a CGI Scorpion King being a better actor than its live action counterpart CRINGE! as poor ol' John Hannah is still a dick, for trying to be funny. Stick to rom-coms, and Rebus, my man BE DISAPPOINTED! because Rachel Weisz is definitely not as hot as she was, in the original ADMIRE! Alan Silvestri's score. It's no way as good as Jerry's, but it channels a little bit of Jerry, a soupçon of JW, and a shedload of Rózsa COVER YOUR EYES! at the sight of a topless Arnold Vasloo. Honestly, dude, no-one needs to see that LOOK PUZZLED! at the thought that someone in Hollywierd thought that The Rock could act DON'T GIVE ANY SHITS! as you cannot be bothered to care about anything happening on screen THANK WHATEVER DEITY YOU WORSHIP! as the end credits start to roll What the chuffin' 'eck was all that about?!
  2. Wise words, @JTN. Why venerate someone who you have never met (or are ever likely to), just because you like their work output? For all we know, JW could be a truly nasty little shit, and his public persona is bigged up for the fans. I'm pretty certain that this is not the case. JW seems to be a genuine and very personable man, but... what if it was true? Would that change people's perception of JW? Would people carry on listening to his music knowing that he really was an awful individual? "Never meet your heroes", goes the saying. I live by that, and I want to know nothing about them. If I "know" JW at all, it will be through listening to his music.
  3. @Mr. Hooper, 6.23.1989 is a date that is also forever seared into my brain, but, I can assure you, for a very different reason. Anyhoo... I saw BATMAN on Saturday 6.24, in the USA, and, due to severe jet lag, I watched it in a kind of dream state. Two things I remember about the showing are: 1/ the sound was terrible... and it wasn't because of any inadequacy of the theatre. This has been borne out in subsequent DVD and Blu releases. I much prefer the 30th anniversary mix. 2/ the audience applauded at the shot of the Batwing suspended in front of the moon. It's a stunning shot; not in its execution (Derek Meddings' effects are not much better than what he did for THUNDERBIRDS. ILM must have been laughing all the way to the Oscar™), but in its design. All in all, it was a surreal experience... and I went back to see it twice more during the Summer, and I purchased it on VHS, the following November. In every single way, BATMAN RETURNS is the far superior film, but because of how, when, and where I saw it, BATMAN will always take precedence.
  4. On a tangent, I know, but... I'd really like to hear a clean, full version of the Indian music that is danced to, in Pankot Palace.
  5. I've heard REQUIEM FOR A FRIEND, and I like it a lot. I find DEKALOG painful to watch, but I'll seek it out, again, if only for the music.
  6. I haven't seen Jurassic Park 6 (or whatever it's called).
  7. "Helmet! So, at last we meet, for the first time, for the last time."
  8. There is no "soundtrack" to my life. My life is not a movie. My life is much, much more. Music plays an important role in my life, but it does not dominate. Music is second to my life, and not the other way around. 'Can any part of life be larger than life?' Peart, N (1982)

  10. "That's my family, Kay. That's not me."

  12. Have her put the CDs in-between her smalls, to protect the cases.
  13. "Good luck." "Luck is not a factor."
  14. Ken Bruce used to play the full version of 'Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft', by The Carpenters. He also played 'Forever Autumn', from the chimes of Big Ben, to the end of side two. Nowadays, it's all modern shit, and "urban soul", whatever that is.
  15. "DON'T! You'll blow the gas tanks!" "I am timing you." "I had to ventilate someone." "She tasted like... like strawberries." "Don't touch that! It's my lunch." "They say 'The pen is mightier than the sword'." "Thanks to me, they were right."
  16. #... and you can't take it with you, No matter what you do. No you can't take it with you, Not the place you're going to# Right, @Thor?
  17. That is one big pile of shit. No, really. I mean, look at it. It's halfway up his shins!
