  1. Something about "not stopping", n'est pas?
  2. I don't understand a single word that Jacques Brel sings, but I enjoy listening to it.
  3. I don't believe in systematic desensitization. IMAGES. Throw them in at the deep end. If that doesn't hook them, then nothing will.
  4. I've just looked at the track listing for this cd: 6:14 for THE TOWERING INFERNO? 7:23 for E.T.? What could warrant an extra 1:14 for TTI?
  5. Nice. Pub, have you heard Neil Hanlon's version of THE GOOD LIFE, from GANGSTER #1 ?
  6. I agree to a point, Sharky. Fincher has lost his "apocalyptic" edge, and Nolan is a third-rate director making films for a second-rate audience (I'm sorry, but I don't know who Mann is). Whilst there was a "lucid intellect", Kubrick's lens was far from "dispassionate". There is passion, compassion, and great humour in his work. One simply has to know where to look.
  7. Thanks for that, Inky. I like the film, so I'll check the score out.
  8. Yeah. That's as utterly ridiculous as as a STAR WARS film without John Willi- ...oh shit
  9. The closest we get to that are the POTA isos. POTA itself is in Pro Logic, but the other four are in 5.1.
  10. There's no "apparently" about it, Bil. You get two iso scores with both ALIEN, and ALIENS. All six iso scores, are in 5.1.
  11. (shrugs) I can't help it. Its a pleasant listen. Perfect ironing music.
  12. For me, it's: 1/ THE WALL 2/ ANIMALS 3/ A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON I don't have a top 5, but THE ENDLESS RIVER might just be 4th.
  13. RADIO 3's THE SOUND OF CINEMA. It ranges from the sublime (David Shire's lonely, desolate THE CONVERSATION), to inane, composition-by-numbers (Horner's utterly pedestrian C+PD).
  14. Agreed, Thor. ATD is fantastic, and possibly a better listen than RADIO K.A.O.S. , although I'll always prefer the former (more '87 memories). Looking forward to the new album. It's very good, Stu, but FOLLOW YOUR BLISS remains my favourite B-52's track, closely followed by ROAM, DRY COUNTY, and ROCK LOBSTER. Fuckin' A!
  15. Agreed. I'll see this, as a matter of course. The only way I won't see it, is if I'm dead, or I get waylaid by a gorgeous, bikini-wearing, blonde (well, I can dream, can't I? ).
