You had Heather to look at, and all you can think about, is Capaldi's hair?????!!!!! You are one messed-up dude!

I've seen the odd episode of MY FAMILY; never seen a single microsecond of DEATH IN PARADISE; have seen the BT ads; have seen LOVE ACTUALLY. He's never been on my radar, but then again Tom Baker was not on most people's radar (unless they were fans of Ray Harryhausen films, and/or Russian historical epics), and look what happened, there.

What Is The Last Score You Listened To? (older scores)
Naïve Old Fart replied to Ollie's topic in General Discussion
THE FINAL CONFLICT. It seems apt for today. Not only is this probably JG's finest achievement, it is, without the merest hint of a shadow of a doubt, among the greatest musical works ever created for cinema. -
Things I liked about THE PILOT: - seeing the Movellans, again, -the picture of Susan, - Matt Lucas' character (against my expectation), - Heather. Things I didn't like: - the over scored, portentous music (usually killing good, would-be quipps by ML), - Bill (most annoying companion ever? And that's after one freakin' episode! The Doctor should have taken Heather), - all this right-on, Guardian-reading PC, LGBT stuff. Great for QUEER AS FOLK. and TALES OF THE CITY; innapropriate for this programme, - the fact that the show blew its wad by thinking that it needed to advertise John Simm. Has DW become that desperate?

Duh! The JFK snare drum motif is used in the Love Field sequence. Also, the "five tones" are used in MOONRAKER, so...

Thanks for the tip, dude; I've just bought it. I'll probably watch it over two nights. -
The Irwin Allen and John Williams collaboration
Naïve Old Fart replied to Bespin's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Er, yeah. Sorry. That should read Raising The Christmas Tree. I've also added The Death Of Belle. Two releases? There's the 1998 mono release, the all-singing, all-dancing stereo release, and and...let's just say "unofficial"...release. -

Clifton James RIP
Naïve Old Fart replied to #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal's topic in General Discussion
"Yer not thinking..?" "Aah sure am, boy!" RIP Mr. James. His funniest line, by far, is when he mouths "what the fu-?!" Don't forget his "star turn", in SUPERMAN II. -
Is Dracula (1979) Soundtrack Lost to Time?
Naïve Old Fart replied to RICHARDSTRAUSS68's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
ffi, see HOW TO CONTACT JW thread -
In that case, Will, resolve never to meet JW, until you are at least fifty years old, and your "relationship" to JW has changed.

Who wouldn't? MEMOIRS OF AN INVISIBLE MAN is a really nice score. -

crumbs, it's more common than you might think. I've been re-reading this thread. It's interesting. A few options: 1/ if VS wanted, they could remaster it from either the tapes, or, if they don't own that, either a vinyl, or CD copy. It's been done, before. They could even remix it in 5.1, if they wanted to, as the technology exists to do this (just ask Steven Wilson). 2/ Nic Raine could reconstruct the score, by ear. Sure, it would take a while, and would end up a "labour of love", but, hey... 3/ I can't believe that JW does not have his sheets for this. If he doesn't have them, where are they? 4/ petition VS to rerelease the OST. -

Maybe not, but it's still the single best cue that Elfman has ever composed. Back in June 24th, 1989, the sight of a road-hugging Batmobile, coupled with that choir, was mesmerising. -

Agreed. The Mouse doesn't give a single shit about JW. All it cares about is money, money, money, money, money, money, and more money.
