    It's different, for girls
One question: is she really going out with him?

    Landau was good in INTERSECTION.

Well, now we could start discussing which was his best year, therefore let's say it was one of his best years and THE most frustrating year.

By the way, I always considered '82 one of the best (Poltergeist, First Blood, The Secret of NIMH), but my subjective choice would be '81 with three of my personal favorites (Masada, Outland, Night Crossing).

The rumours have persisted for years that John Williams actually scored Poltergeist while Jerry Goldsmith was just standing around snorting coke and making a bum of himself as Williams was contractually obliged by Universal to score only one film at a time.

Plus the fact that CE3K was written 18 months earlier!
    I'd say that ST:TMP is Goldsmith's CE3K.

    Mostly tonal, unfortunately.

    From Bill Wrobel's PDF:

R5P1 The Shaving Cream Mt. (Heard in the film, unreleased) - A brief variation on the Bbm7 -> C7 Devil's Tower motif with the descending Dies Irae motif on flutes.
R5P3 The Pillow (Unused, unreleased) - Just those two chords, repeated twice (4 bars in length).
R71X T.V. Western (Source music, deleted scene)

R9P2 Lava Flow (Deleted scene, unreleased) - I have no idea what this might be--more TV source music? 61 bars and 15 pages.

R14P4 (New) Untitled sweetener (Unreleased) - Four unknown instruments (missing on the scan) playing the 5 note motif in sforzando major 9ths with the instruction "like car horns." Probably an overdub for The Lightshow.

R15P1 The Arrival (Unused, unrelealsed) - Could be the original Barnstorming.

R15P1 The Doppler Effect (Sweetener, unreleased) - 6 horns playing ad lib hairpin crescendos on two chords - AbMaj7#5 and GMaj9#11.

    R15P1 Sweetener (Used ?, unreleased)

Mission impossible, Cosmos 99. A great part of my young years, if not Childhood. Time passes.

Great mix of electronics and traditional orchestra. For a later Barry score too, there are a decent amount of themes as well. The Mujaheldin theme is excellent, though I would have liked to have seen the Russian sounding Koskov motif develop into a full fledge theme, it's still great.

Brilliant, just brilliant. There's a lot of love for that score, here at JWfan, and long may it continue!

Not bad. Probably Allen's most visually ambitious film. But I think creatively this was a step backwards from Interiors and it may as well have just been Annie Hall 2, only this time in black & white and Panavision anamorphic. Mariel Hemmingway was a showstopper as Woody's gaolbait girlfriend - definitely something autobiographical about that one!

And this was an early flick for Meryl Streep. Phwoar she was a hottie in this!

Agreed, on all points. The show needed Eccleston to kick-start it, and Tennant to take into orbit. He was born to play The Doctor.
The look on Tennant's face as The Doctor realises what the four knocks signify, is heartbreaking. Don't even mention "I don't want to go".

Sphere (complete score) - Elliot Goldenthal

I've had this one on a lot this week.  It's my favorite Goldenthal, although that's always a tight race.  There are some truly brutal, savage passages in this that other composers tried to tap into in later years.

TITANIC'S 20TH ANNIVERSARY IS THIS DECEMBER.
Not to be unkind to anybody, but...so?
It's CE3K's 40th, this November, and both THE WITCHES IF EASTWICK's, and INNERSPACE's 30th, this Summer. I'll be celebrating their anniversaries, instead.
TITANIC, is a good, and very popular film, but, that's about all.
