  1. Yes, Dennis! I was wondering who would first mention that... So playful and fun, while being classier than other kids movie music at the same time.
  2. If it's that really powerful (and beatiful!) effect of reverb recording you're after, I'd recommend any of the shorter action tracks from The Mummy. "Taureg Attack", "Night Boarders", "The Sand Volcano" etc. Any of those. Or you could try Air Force One, but I'm guessing you'll have already heard those cues. Although I'd still recommend "Escape From Air Force One".
  3. Dunno if I could pick just one. Hmmm, Star Trek, Air Force One, The Mummy, Dennis (soooo underated!), Sleeping With The Enemy.....
  4. Meh, it's only the Tortuga Hornpipe track from Dead Man's Chest that's being performed, so I'm not that bothered. I'm Still shocked that something like this is in there at all though!
  5. I've always wondered the same thing. Is it for the most well-known scores of the composer? For instance: - John Williams - Special Collection - Dracula, The Poseidon Adventure, Sugarland Express etc. Scores that are special, but not the most well-known/famous from the particular composer. John Williams - Signature Edition - Jaws, Star Wars, Superman, E.T. etc. Scores that are true signature editions of the particular composer and are well-known/famous. Dunno if that's how it works, but that's always been my gut instinct towards these things.
  6. That's a re-rec? Sounds like an edit of the OST tracks to me. Yeah it defo a re-recording. The drums aren't quite as powerful as the OST, and some of the trumpet(?)/horn(?) notes are slightly altered, as is the ending. It's a brilliant advert, inspired even. It's on all the time at the moment, in the UK. Well said Quint! Their bread is very nice, but then so is Kingsmill's too! Personally I've never seen him before, but I guess he could be well known! Dunno who's it is then but it certainly isn't the OST music, unless there's a bunch of alternates and/or different mixes that we don't know about!
  7. To be fair, the film/album cue is much more powerful than this one.
  8. I saw this a few weeks ago and I'm surprised no-one else on here has mentioned it yet. Notice anything familiar about the (flatly re-recorded) music? I think it's great. Certainly one of the best adverts on TV over here at the moment!
  9. I have a soft spot for the movie. Some of it's so bad, it's good!
  10. Really? Maybe mine's dodgy then. The sound in the Main/End Titles warbles from left to right/right to left quite a lot. This is really evident if you compare The Final Frontier to something like The Mummy, or Air Force One etc because their sound qualities are absolutely excellent, the perfect mix!
  11. The only Trek score I'm bothered about being expanded is The Final Frontier. There was some great cues ommitted from the OST, and the sound mix is awful.
  12. I think they're both marvellous, but I would have to pick Jerry for this one simply because of his powerful work on The Mummy, Air Force One, Star Trek etc.
  13. Seriously, how many Star Wars theme park attractions has Williams scored? I know of, hmm, none. I didn't say he had. I was hinting that JW always seems to be more interested in the SW Franchise than any other he's been involved with. Didn't JW "painstakingly re-write" over 2 hours of music for that Star Wars: In Concert malarky? Would he do that for Harry Potter? No. Would he do that for Indiana Jones? No.
  14. I'll definitley have to pick it up then!
  15. No, because it's not Star Wars so he's not interested.
  16. I love it when Brody just about loses it and shouts, "Don't give me that shit, POINT!"
  17. John Debney's re-recordings of the Back To The Future & Back To The Future: Part II films are quite simply, attrocious... I shame really, because I usually like John Debney.
  18. Happy Birthday! Underground Heroics.
  19. Interesting, thanks guys. Mahler, I would post the audio, but after trying the movie on a different DVD player, the music was fine and as it should be! I must be going mad!
  20. Ok, so I was watching The Lost World: Jurassic Park last night and I noticed something odd about the Universal Pictures fanfare at the beginning. It was the majestic Goldsmith one, but the middle bit seemed to be mixed differently, like part of it was missing. The powerful drums were still there, and the beginning and the end was the same, but the middle part was just...odd. <_< Anyone know if this was intentional? Was it used/mixed like this on other releases? Or is it an alternate version that they rarely used, because I've never heard it before? If no-one can tell what the hell I'm on about ( ), I'll upload an audio clip of it when I get home tonight.
  21. What about "Sleigh Ride Over Manhattan" from Santa Claus The Movie, by Henry Mancini?
