  1. I wish people 'round here would start saying what they really mean, instead of 'sugar-coating' their words.....
  2. The place was advertised on UK TV last night. Looks good. The music was obviously not Williams, but something vaguely similiar, a sot of 'generic fantasy music'.
  3. I greatly enjoy both scores, but Star Trek: The Motion Picture wins for me. However, I do find the Star Trek (2009) album more balanced and enjoyable to listen to than TMP. TMP is great, but between 'Spock's Arrival' and 'A Good Start' I get bored.....
  4. Hansy always comes across as likeable in interviews.
  5. WILL download those scores at some point!

  6. 'Harry's Wondrous World' (version 2). 'He's A Pirate' (version 2).
  7. I wondered when that one would crop up. I'll add 'Dishonest Decision / Jack vs Barbossa' from Pirates Of The Carribean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl.
  8. Some interesting choices here guys, thanks.
  9. Which ones do you like? I'll start the ball rolling with: 'Night Boarders', The Mummy - Jerry Goldsmith. 'Mine Car Chase', Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom - John Williams. I love these two cues because the instruments are just going crazy for the duration. By the end of them I'm gasping for breath! So, which crazy/fun tracks do enjoy listening to (even if they're jusy guilty pleasures)?
  10. Anyone wanna venture a bet that one will be a Horner? Star Trek III: The Search For Spock..... Actually no, that will come from FSM later this year, bringing Star Trek V: The Final Frontier with it.
  11. The Mummy - Jerry Goldsmith. The Mummy Returns - Alan Silvestri. Air Force One - Jerry Goldsmith. Star Trek: Nemesis - Jerry Goldsmith. Under Seige 2: Dark Territory - Basil Poledouris.
  12. I just don't take either the film or the album too seriously. That's how I enjoy them. And not long ago you weren't too keen on the main bulk of the score! Now look at you, you're an addict!
  13. Yeah the 'Woooooooooosh BANG' really ends the film for me.
  14. Yes, those are both great cues. The ending section of "My First Bus Ride" (which uses Rick's theme) is fantastic. I also love "Medjai Commanders" and "Sandcastles". I must admit, I watched the film with very low hopes for any part of it being good, and although the plot is fairly thin, it's just good family entertainment (if somewhat far-fetched!) The score didn't grip me the first time I heard it, so I bought the OST just to make sure and now I'm hooked!
  15. No, that's what made the plebians like it. and make more money therefore reviving the franchise from its death... do you want it to die again? I'd rather it die a respectful death than live on being what it isn't. Well said Charlie. We want Star Trek, not Star Wars.
  16. I always used to think that the End Credits should've gone straight into the score suite rather than 'Back In Time', similar to Part II.
  17. The Mummy Returns by Alan Silvestri. I love it. His theme for the Medjai Commanders is fantastic. In fact, I'm going to try and make a suite using all the different statements of it throughout the movie. When time permits that is (bloody TransPennine Express!)
  18. Me too. It works ok in the film because, as you say, the sound effects cover the transition. In reality, without the sound effects, it sounds attrocious. Just for fun I even tried an edit of "Doc Returns" / "End Credits", and that sounded terrible too. Not because of my editing skills, but because the pieces are clearly not meant to segue into each other.
  19. If memory serves, I think I became seriously interested after hearing Jurassic Park and Back To The Future: Parts II & III.
  20. Bah! A good film score fan always puts the music first. Ah yes, but alas, I value my life much more than just my ears alone...
  21. Finally, mine has arrived as well.....only problem now is I am not at home to listen to it and enjoy it. Damn it. There's always some thing. Oh well, at least I'll have something at home waiting for me when I finish work tonight...apart from my very beautiful wife that is. I sympathise, but I would always put my wife before any music! Anyway, when you do get 'round to listening to it, you'll love it.
  22. Do The Mummy & The Mummy Returns OSTs include the End Credits on them? If not I'll just take them off the DVDs, but I'd rather not have to bother... EDIT: Never mind, I think I already know the answers.
