  1. If they do release a Prequel boxset, they should be expanded releases.
  2. Twilight Zone: The Movie by Jerry Goldsmith. Simply amazing, just bought it at JB-HiFi for $18, how about that for luck! The Overture is purely grand. "Kick The Can" sounds so Spielberg, I'm sure John Williams would have done something very similar. "Time Out" is interesting for its comical militaristic percussion. "It's A Good Life", being the first collaboration between Goldsmith and Joe Dante, is worth the price of the entire CD alone with its lush orchestration and build up to a sweet finale. And finally, "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" shows the composer kind of rehashed his own material for Gremlins in the following year, even so, this track is pure schizophrenia, its fantastic.
  3. I had a Job Seeking Skills in Journalism teacher who looked like Howard Shore.
  4. Oh, Steef. What are you trying to do, scare us? You sound like my mother. We've known each other for a long time. I don't believe in magic, a lot of superstitious hocus pocus. We're discussing a film of potentially incredible historical significance, you're talking about the boogie man. Besides, you know what a cautious bunch we are.
  5. It's about two shops to the right of Dirt Cheap CDs. Next to Hungry Jacks.
  6. Problem with that place is everything they have that I'd be interested in, I've already got. Plus, their selection isn't terribly wide. Same with Rockbottom Music.
  7. Don't you dare touch JB-HiFi. There's a stack of CDs there I'm planning on getting.
  8. It's time we do another JWfan Top 10. There have been many Williams scores released since the last one.
  9. Flight attendants will be boycotting every future James Horner soundtrack release from now on as well.
  10. Your friend is a Vulcan. He is incapable of lying.
  11. Meh, I didn't like book 5 (didn't hate it though) and thought HBP was a vast improvement. It fixed all the bad things in that book. HAP took everything that was great about OOTP and flushed it down Moaning Myrtle's toilet... though you're entitled to your opinion.
  12. I've had more luck talking to people who know who Danny Elfman is, but they only know of him because of Oingo Boingo. They had no idea he even does film scores.
  13. People who hear celesta sounds when spotting a Hermione look-a-like. Like Steef? I'm sure he'll find that remark... not-so-insulting. You hated Book 5? You'll burn 6. And why wasn't Goldsmith's Star Trek: The Motion Picture on that list? Or The Omen even? Pretty insulting.
  14. Not one person I know offline can put the name Williams to any of his pieces. If I start whistling a Goldsmith piece even, they'll say "Star Wars!" Sorry to be a pessimist, but these composers will only be remembered by geeks like us.
  15. Star Wars has its rightful place at Number 1. What is the average Potter fan? Certainly not one who hated Book 6 like yours truly.
  16. At first, I thought it was something about the fifth film.
  17. Good for him. Those old reviews were too short as they were.
  18. Nothing on that channel beats this masterpiece...
  19. It doesn't actually say when Munich will be released. Bummer.
  20. Finally, some appeal for the males in this franchise. I remember she was in the TV mini Revelations playing some goth chick - major turn off, but she looks good here.
  21. Don't get me wrong, I like Shore's LOTR. But I really don't have the patience to sit through more of his underscore which sounds almost the same as what's already heard on the original soundtrack release. My first priority is to the new Williams soundtracks and the Revenge of the Sith DVD... and then eventually Potter, if Patrick Doyle manages to impress me.
