    Sorry that I didn't browse hundreds of threads to possibly find out: Is there a good open source program for editing sound files (e.g., for cutting off a section or combining several files into one)? Or what do you use for this kind of stuff? I normally don't edit (as you can tell), but I'd like to "improve" a few of my playlists now... Thanks.

    Aww, you guys are too hard on Djawadi. I found quite a number of, well, motifs ("theme" might be too big a word in some cases) memorable (even though not always in a positive way). Quite distinct, besides the often used and intervoven main theme, are: The Stark theme The Lannister theme The Targaryen/dragon theme (sadly disappeared after season 1) Khal Drogo's theme (ditto - with one short exception at the end of season 2) The Baratheon theme Dany's new motif (okay, that's really not a fully realized theme - but memorable) Theon's theme (hideous!) The Stannis/Melisandre/Lord of Light theme The Assasin/Arya motif The wall motif and there are possibly a few others I am forgetting right now. I at least can instantly remember what they sound like.

    Finally got mine (the jewel case did not survive shipping, though ;-)). What an awesome score. It's the best album I've heard in ages, with not a single cue I don't like :-)

    There was already one storyline from book 5 that was featured heavily throughout S3. If you refer to Theon's storyline, I am quite certain that all of what happened in saeson 3 actually takes place before what happens in book 4 (and wasn't actually described by Martin). Or do you mean something else? Oh right, I forgot about this... that storyline was indeed largely over... even though one new character of that storyline that we should see soon is actually from book 3. For reasons I myself don't quite understand, I really like Djawadi's scores, and own all three CDs. My personal highlight is "Mother of Dragons" from season 2. The music is certainly nothing I listen to all the time, but I think it underscores the series quite well (with the exception of a few rather hideous synth cues).

    One question, who actually said that there will be elements from books 4 and 5 in this season? is there an interview or something? I haven't really seen any preview footage that would indicate this.

    Well, let's also not forget that Star Wars was perceived by many as a small, dubious sci-fi movie with a modest budget. Not the kind of movie most big stars would even consider starring in. I'm surprised Guinnes accepted the offer, to be honest

    That is not in the Bible. They took 7 of all clean beasts and 5 ( i think) of unclean beasts. Actually, both versions are in the bible (Genesis 6 vs. Genesis 7 - I looked it up...). 2, 5, 7... all the same ;-)

    So, finished watching Terra Nova. It managed to leave a better impression than I originally had, but overall it was nothing extraordinary, and I'm not hugely disappointed that it got dicontinued. It could have been so much more imo. For example by being based on the initial discovery and exploration of the past environment. Now the surroundings felt entirely exchangable... could have been aliens on a different planet, and it wouldn't have made a difference. I also got the soundtrack by Tyler. Pleasant, but nothing special either.

    Ordered, too. $ 37.99 ... :-( At least, thanks to the weak dollar, only 28 € at the moment. In any case, so looking forward to this :-)

    I have started to watch "Terra Nova"; not sure about this yet. It feels similar to Stargate Atlantis... while I am used to Game of Thrones now ;-)

    Strange that so far not a single A-List actor seems to be involved with the project. Either they want to have only "fresh" faces, or the concept isn't all that attractive to many in Hollywood. Most of these names mean nothing to me; I might have seen them in some TV show, but certainly don't recall their faces when I hear the names. The female lead has seen better days, and the only real star is a star really only in India. "Life of Pi" is the only thing I saw him in. All of this doesn't mean the movie is going to suck (I rather like the concept so far), it's just curious to me...

    Yes yes yes I waited for this for a looong time. Now I only need "Land before time" (which can be bought as an mp3 album in the US - but guess where not), and I have most of the classics I still wanted...

    what new 4-note carnivore motif? I just remember JP's carnivore motif greatly used in the score. As far as I remember, Davis used a variation of the four-note motif most of the time (as in the river battle with the Spinosaurus). His best use of the original raptor motif isn't even in the film. The new (or altered) motif actually sounds more like the adventure theme in minor... or am I mistaken here? Have to listen to it again

    I thought Cersei's storyline was done very well. Best part of Feast for Crows. It was the same stuff over and over and over again. How many times does she have to behave the way she did in order for us to understand how she ticks? I did prefer her storyline over Brienne's, though.

    I'd say there's enough stuff for 2 seasons in these two books. Some of the character developments are quite tedious (Cersei!) or lead nowhere, but I still doubt they will have used up all the material by the end of season 5...
