  1. Only because it had all the pieces, not the applause, which you then had to edit out (unless you prefer applause of course).
  2. I was also quite surprised they didn't put the clean audio on the CD. They must have erroneously thought the "Live" Vienna version was superior and this time just put that on CD (even though the accompanying BD has it)?
  3. That's because since posting it, the track was deleted from Soundcloud, apparently. https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=146975&forumID=1&archive=0
  4. The programme is admittedly a bit standard, and could do with a few more lesser-programmed pieces (would love to hear "Double Trouble" or any other HP3 piece in the Musikverein, or something like Seven Years in Tibet for instance) and could do without the repeat pieces "Hedwig's Theme" and "Marion's Theme", but I'm glad there's not more overlap with the previous Vienna programme. What I don't really understand, though, here or at previous concerts, is the repeat within the concert itself of "Leia's Theme", and last time with "Marion's Theme".
  5. The revised version appears on this album: https://shop.filmfestival.be/collections/cd/products/world-soundtrack-awards-tribute-to-the-film-composer https://www.qobuz.com/album/world-soundtrack-awards-tribute-to-the-film-composer-brussels-philharmonic-dirk-brosse
  6. That's a shocking list, especially with regard to Shaft, Matrix Revolutions, Passion of the Christ, Stepford Wives, and the James Bond scores. These are all terrific scores and editions.
  7. (I have a few seats left on my membership subscription as well, if any other JWFANners want to join in.)
  8. I used a different browser (Opera) to check out after Firefox didn't work last night for the subscription.
  9. Ditto, will there be tickets available on Thursday? Is it too late anyhow to renew membership or does that activate immediately? And when would it go on sale exactly tomorrow?
  10. What do you think the difference between these two is? https://www.nl.fnac.be/a16401774/John-Williams-JOHN-WILLIAMS-IN-BERLIN-Cd-album https://www.nl.fnac.be/a16401773/John-Williams-JOHN-WILLIAMS-IN-BERLIN-Cd-album Would the more expensive one be the 2CD & 2 blu-ray Deluxe version even though it just says 2CDs? This seems like the most logical, unless there are really two versions of the 2CD.
  11. I finally got around to listening to this in more detail and arranging it in chronological (also satisfying) order, mostly taking the revised cues for the main programme (the revised cue for the explosion and "The Old Timer's Shack" I found to be more interesting than the counterparts). A few random notes or thoughts that might be of interest: - I re-arranged my main programme as follows: Among the Clouds / Dorinda Survives (Alternate = Second Version, edited after "Among the Clouds") + Dorinda Survives (Final Version) / End Credits (Original Version) The two first versions of Dorinda Survives can't be both in the bonus programme becuase they're too alike; and the final version is of course entirely different and works great as finale. I didn't use the original version of Dorinda Survives in the main programme because a large part is reprised in the original End Credits (there's only half of that overlap in the second version of Dorinda Survives) - the Alternate End Credits is composed of several components, it sounds like 3:35 is one alternate ending, and it then segues to a different alternate. So besides liking the original assembly better, that might be a reason to keep it in the bonus tracks. It's maybe also best kept separate from the final Dorinda Survives, as it reprises the horn solo again. (So I thought it was the other way around @Holko - the original credits are too alike v1 of Dorinda Survives, not Dorinda Solo Flight) - "Pete and Dorinda" contains "Dorinda and Pete" (Alternate) / "Dorinda and Pete" in this order. Overall a superb release, of course!
  12. Somehow I missed this all those years ago, perhaps assuming that the Feinstein release covered the Williams song, but finally picked this up. Did anyone save that promotional video from back in the day? The Spielberg and Williams visiting story is also in the liner notes, apparently she put JW to work immediately and he had to clear up a wrong note in the sheet music.
  13. I assume there's no chance that Elfman will attend the premiere?
  14. This compilation has been discussed a few times on this board previously. It's an actual orchestra and indeed contains a few interesting tracks.
  15. This is indeed a fantastic set. I also feel it does need some reprogramming to put together all film versions ('alternates') and the underscore from discs 1 and 3, but then it flow beautifully, and the complete score really underlines what a great soundtrack and adaptation this is. Many thanks to @Holko for the breakdown! One question, which may already have been answered: the 'demo' of "Any Day Now" is the earliest version, and the playback version is the more developed version of this unused song, right?
  16. Hopefully this is just a postponement. A pity though, Milan in June would have been great.
  17. Thanks for this thread, which inspired me to play the Fall of the Roman Empire rerecording. Such a terrific score, an all-time classic in my opinion, and between these two surely superior, even though Zimmer's score has many merits itself (if you disregard the action music ;)).
  18. Always been fond of Chris Boardman's Payback, it's a great theme (which pays homage to/is a variation on The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 of course) and the climactic cue is terrific too, hope that at some point there's a proper score release. I never quite understood why the score was replaced in the altered cut of the film.
  19. Is this film why they retitled the film SAS: Red Notice to SAS: Rise of the Black Swan?
  20. Great news, an expansion and remastering were long overdue. This score is easily in my top-ten JW scores.
  21. The Old Indiana Jones Chronicles! Indy is doing some consultancy for a film studio where he happens to bump into Williams and a young Spielberg...
  22. Does anyone know when the next Intrada release is planned? I'd like to get one more order in before the EU starts to charge customs on everything.
