  1. I recently was on the look-out for a number of Kunzel/Cincinnati Pops albums I've had on my wishlist for ages, until I noticed that four of the albums I really wanted to add to the collection, were all in this budget box set: https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/products/8549114--classic-film-music No booklets of course, and cardboard sleeves, but great to have these five collected in this box. Contains the following: The Big Picture / Vintage Cinema / Star Tracks / Three Choral Suites (Ben-Hur / Quo Vadis / King of Kings) / The Great Fantasy Adventure Album
  2. Gabriel Yared has also often done this in the past.
  3. So they made the same edit as on the OST of Finale and End Credits. For some reason I'd expected them to record the actual End Credits like the RPO.
  4. The Film Symphony Orchestra albums are live recordings, so this new version of Theme from JFK should be better. "End Credits" from Temple of Doom was also recorded by the RPO, on Filmharmonic II. That's the version that appears on the second link Jay gave us; here are the original volumes collected: https://www.amazon.com/Film-Music-Gala-Celebration-Philharmonic/dp/B01M3XU2AL/
  5. I agree! The original release was in 2019 but in the UK/US the release dates are 2020. It was also nominated for the World Soundtrack Public Choice Award last year.
  6. There's also the BSX rerecording, which is a nice alternative and placeholder.
  7. Glad they got to do The World Is Not Enough in time, as that was the crucial David Arnold score that didn't get a complete release or a bootleg earlier. Would love to listen to a complete Tomorrow Never Dies not sourced from the iso score as well, needless to say.
  8. The ending of the OST track "Good Thing You Were Listening", is that the ending of "Beckett Departs", or is that the ALT Qi-Ra Departs?
  9. According to the booklet the ending of Maid Marian (The Plot Thickens) on the album is a specially recorded album ending, but that very brief coda really sounds like tracked material, what with the fade-out?
  10. Everyone has his or her own favourite cues of course. While they left off some of the cues that I would definitely have included personally, they did include almost all of the most essential cues that were on my wishlist. And completely out of the blue, it contains Smoking Telegram! It looks like a fantastic release.
  11. Yes, but the music for the unaired Sherlock pilot appears to have been recorded in February 2009.
  12. Not a score I listen to very often anymore, and not an easy listen, but it's a must-have for Arnold fans that like to go beyond the orchestral style of ID4 of Stargate. Really shows how versatile he is as a composer.
  13. Is it established that Arnold based the style of the TV score on Zimmer's score? Doesn't the pilot of Sherlock predate Zimmer's score?
  14. Yes, but the regular blu-rays included in that box set are the new blu-rays and do carry the iso score, right?
  15. What are Europeans' experiences with ordering this from the store? I assume there's no custom-friendly shipping, and it's taxed on top of the really hefty shipping costs?
  16. Not to make you jealous but "Mine Mission" in concert at Film Fest Ghent did indeed sound terrific. Very happy that this piece in particular was performed.
  17. Was this also going to be part of the BD release of the new transfer?
