  1. Me, whenever I see JW's name onscreen I usually just close my eyes and smile to myself...I might whisper a little "Hoo-rah." or just wait for that moment to take a bite of candy (If his name is at the beginning of the movie, that is.) But I always feel as it's a great moment nobody else in the theatre experiences but me.
  2. Williams themes are Iconic. Even people who aren't fimiliar with the man himself know the music and their respective films. Jaws, SW, Indy. Howard doesn't have any of those themes that the average person can recognize. Just my opinion. But I do like Howard though. Mostly his early 90's stuff like Grand Canyon, The Fugitive, Falling Down. They were interesting scores. This is the period when he and Zimmer were best. I'm not crazy on these guys softer romantic scores like As Good As It Gets (Ok, Dave was pretty good and Green Card is one of my favorites ever.)
  3. My Ex-Girlfriend Looks a lot like Ziyi Zhang. We broke Up and that was the BIGGEST mistake of my life!! I'm still smarting from that one. Looks like JW has a "Pants Tent" where the pants bunch up and it looks like a . Anybody see Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 1 Ep. 1 "The Pants Tent?" Larry: "I know My sources - Sophia Loren was one of my sources." LOL Jason - Who wants his Hot Ex-Girlfriend back
  4. From ROTJ we are missing music from Jabba's Sail Barge. The Part where R2 and 3-PO are serving drinks. You can here a better version of this music in the "From Star Wars To Jedi" making of documentary. I really like that music
  5. Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom (I Have a near exact quality copy but don't have an Actual Original CD) Witches Of Eastwick (Same) E.T. (First Release) Jaws (First release) Close Encounters (First Release) Most everything else I think I have on original CD
  6. Is it in "The Well Of The Souls", "Maleficio", "The Confrontation With Ogilvy". For some reason I'm partial to "Watergate" from Nixon.
  7. I hear the movie will be about the experiences of 2 Officers who were trapped in the building. I think the movie will focus on them. They say no footage of planes going into buildings will be shown. If Nic Cage plays the same type of character he did in Martin Scorsese's Brilliant Bring Out the Dead it could be an interesting project. If JW is chosen as composer he it might be a very subdued score like Private Ryan. Has JW ever turned down a project after seeing a rough cut? Curious.
  8. i bought mine at wal-mart in Canada yesterday. The Bonus disc is not included in Canada plus the spine has Star wars written twice, 1 in english and 1 in french...All DVD's now come like this. It looks out of place with the other episodes. But I can make my own spine to match.
  9. The Forest Battle - 3:51 to 3:54. So much going on in those few seconds of way, way too short incredible action music.
  10. Newfoundland, Canada, SK-94220 Wal-Mart No FBI or Copyright stickers at all. No code to download Williams interview.
  11. Really Love this opening track and love that it's over 7 minutes unlike the previous 2 but 1 minor (or maybe major flaw) is the exclusion of Star Wars' traditional 'Twinkling Stars' music that has been in ALL the films to date. I really hope this music is in the finished film. Just quite doesn't seem like Star Wars without it.
  12. When this question was posed 3 years ago I'll give the same answer now I did Then. YES!!! I am going to wait for the CD. There is nothing like the weeks waiting up to a Star Wars Release. And since this is the Last one this will be the only chance to Go to the CD store with that "Oh My God, I'm on my way to buy a new Star Wars Soundtrack" feeling. Picking the CD up, gazing at it, smiling, heart beating all the while, buying it and later that spring evening popping the CD in, turning the volume up LOUD!! and wait for that first 'DUUHHHNN' Crash of the Main theme and let it's magic work over you. That's what it's all about.!!! :spiny: But OK, I did listen to the 2 preview tracks #1 and #3 once and deleted them because I couldn't spoil myself any more then that.
  13. Yes, Quite an interesting thread. All I have to say is this poster must have liked Williams just enough to look us up, register and post here. That's something, I guess. My hope is that over time he'll be intrigued enough in Williams to seek out his other work and then they'll become a fan. But I do think it's wrong to come here and ask (or claim) that this artist is better then that one. I Love rock music too, I like Petty, Dylan, Clapton, Zevon, Pretenders and many others but I don't go onto Fan message boards of these artists and pronounce to people "Hey, What's wrong with you people? This Music is no good. John Williams is the Best artist ever! Period!". That's ignorance. We Are here because we Love Williams and his music, and if you feel Petty or Adams are more creative artists that's fine. That's your personal taste. There are millions of people who still Love Elvis. That's their perogatives. Now if you liked Williams enough to come here I suggest you find out a little more about him, ask us questions about him, seek out some of his other work and then share your views. Well that's All. Didn't mean to get so serious here.
  14. I like it too. I've only listned to it twice. Reminiscent of the Chamber Of Secrets theme. I really like the chior - I can see it tying into a version of Duel Of The Fates. I Really Can't Wait for this CD!!!!!
  15. Asking Your Opinions: Is The 2nd 2 minute time period of "The Flying Sequence" from Superman the BEST THING J has ever Done???? It may not be THE best but in my OP it's definitly 1 of them. It Represents J at his very best. I love driving through the city at night listening to this. Who else Loves It????
  16. Happy Birthday To A Man whose music I have listned to almost every single day of the last 20 years. And Here's to what may be one of his greatest works This coming May.
  17. Good Job. I laughed, I Cried (and I never gush over sappy stuff at all.) I could almost hear cues from 'Always' while reading this. Ironically this would make a great movie - if John composed the score for it. Think About It.
  18. Ricard Very sorry to hear. Be with those that cared for your father, remember him, talk openly about him and his life and honour him. Our thoughts are with you, of course.
  19. Click this link for an interesting Star Wars Story: http://www.cbc.ca/arts/features/starwars/
  20. Since 1991 I have been collecting posters and now have about 1100. Most video stores will sell them or give them away every week and I'm always there to grab them. I got many Williams, spielberg posters.
  21. I really liked the music in this scene. Sort of like the death of Jonathan kent music. Too bad this wasn't on the OST.
  22. I have this on VHS as well. How would I go about getting this to my PC? This Doc is available at some blockbusters. Seeing as how they're selling off all their VHS nowadays i'd go about about maybe finding one. Just a helpful suggestion.
  23. I think It's one of Williams best Underscore pieces. Reminds me of his work in Nixon and Minority Report. Some very good sounds in there, I Think.
  24. Oh My God, I LOVE this score. It is so Rich. This is maybe (note, I said 'Maybe') his best score since Schindler's List. I can understand why some of you might not like it. I can understand you liking it over time. But I feel I have to lend my voice here. That's all. And If you still want to trade, i'd be interested.
