  1. I read something similar but I think I may have read that in the liner notes to the 2cd John Debney release of the Superman score. I'm sure it reads like the original masters have long been lost, and this was shortly before the Rhino release came out. Someone correct me if wrong
  2. Neil Greg Kathy Maurizio Dean
  3. I think Naboo because it looks quiet and peaceful so somelike me could come in and create hell. Besides I think they'd have the loveliest women there so it would be a given, not like some of the females (if you could call them that) you saw in the Cantina at Mos Eisley. Can you imagine what you would pick up and go home with after a hard nights drinking there? Not worth thinking about.
  4. Yeah I just re-read it and corrected it.
  5. Yeah, it was called Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Australia also. We had Welcome To The Jungle but Executive Decision remained unchanged.
  6. DOWN WITH THE S.C.E.G.G.S. - WESTIES RULE LOL Classy avatar too, James
  7. This one is for those non-US members here and was prompted by another post by robthehand. Sometimes US films get re-named for international release. What films can you think of that have been re-named? This is what I know of that have been re-named for Australia US title = Aust Title Airplane = Flying High (1 and 2) Flight of The Apache = Firebirds
  8. That is a very broad covering re-title for a movie as the movie revolves around one day only, Groundhog Day, because they could also use "Trapped In Time" for Back to the Future. The original title of GHD sounds so much better. BTW, did they change the name of the Back To The Future films as well?
  9. William Walton, actually. Neil My bad.
  10. Listening to The Great Escape the other night brought this subject to my mind. What scores have there been where, for whatever reason scores, the master tapes have been lost for years upon years and thought lost forever, only to be found later. Does any one have a list of these types of scores? I only know of two at present. They being the recent Elmer Bernsteins The Great Escape (2CD) and Malcolm Arnolds rejected score of Battle of Britain. What other ones are there?
  11. Sure am. I didn't know about this but I'm already looking into this one. Thanks heaps mate.
  12. E.T. made at Universal. Poltergeist made at MGM. Pretty long bicycle ride. Unless he had E.T. in front basket.
  13. One has music Other has music Coincidence? Brilliant LOL
  14. Hmmm. Theyr'e Here They're Already Here Stars a little girl Stars Tom Cruise and a little girl Directed by Tobe Hooper Directed by Steven Spielberg. Me thinks you is reaching. Not really much of a coincidence.
  15. I haven't seen it yet either. I'm in no rush. The excitement of Star Wars has waned a lot over the years and this time I have been "Star Wars'ed" out by all the hype over ROTS. So I'll see it in my own sweet merry time. I think that the movie has actually been prostituted out as far as quality merchasndising (or lack of it) goes because there is some utter garbage out there on the store shelves.
  16. I've only bought two. The sneak preview R4-G9 and R2-D2. I've thought about building a collection of astromech droids but some of them just look like crap.
  17. I agree with orrakul. Once the film is cut then scored and then goes through a re-edit JW is going to have to sit in and offer his thought/advice on changes he is going to have to make regarding the music for the new cut. It may even involve a complete rewrite. This may account for "alternative" tracks such as Binary Sunset and Sail Barge Assualt on the SW and ROTJ cd's
  18. I don't wish to express any opinion on ROTS yet as to whether the ROTS music is good or not as I have not yet seen the film. I need to see how well the music sits in the film to be able to really appreciate the music. The only thing I will say is that, for me ROTS is very much a departure from the other music, similar to the way IJATLC was a departure from the two previous films as far as the music goes. Although there are familiar themes present on the official OST the released music gives it a completely different feel my thoughts only.
  19. Looking for chrono for The Patriot (JW version) and is there a complete version around?
  20. Yes - this deserves a bit of an explanation - and an apology! I have ALWAYS used the log-on name "Greg1138" on more-or-less every site I have registered with......naturally, when registering with JWFan.net I automatically typed in Greg1138.....without thinking to check if anyone else had had the same idea.....of course, when I navigated round the boards a bit more I came across Danielle's username - and felt somewhat embarassed and guilty!! Sorry Danielle!!!!!!!!! It was not intentional!!!!! As for the "1138" thing - well - don't you see the connection? I see the connection. They like George Lucas. Lets get them and string them up This from a man with the user name "Jedimaster"..... Just being cheeky, Hi Dean! Greg Hi Greg, I try to be cheeky when possible but being in a different time zone is very depressing. By the time I see something I want to respond to there are already a dozen or more posts ahead of me.

  22. I thought I heard in ROTS as well. But there are quite a few good tracks in TPM.
  23. It's good to see that this board isn't lacking any sense of humility at all.
