Unfortunately, these are not exciting titles to me personally but would I be condemned by all if I got some of them for their value after selling out?
-
Yes, they were as they used the main leitmotifs from the scores. However SW, TESB, ROTJ AND ROTS all finish with a similar fanfare cue that is missing from TPM and AOTC.
-
Granted it may be a creative decision but the uncertainty is there already without the removal of the fanfare. I also see this music as a much a part of the SW series are the opening titles. It's just not the same without it.
-
Does anyone know why the music for the end credits of TPM and AoTC ends differently to the other four scores? I was listening to ROTS tonight, having just got it today, that I realised this score ends with the usual fanfare that Episodes 4-6 have. Any reason why the other two don't end this way?

Question 1: No I don't. Question 2: No.

Aside from the very disjointed Duel of The Fates I quite enjoyed TPM UE (btw, I am not making a complete TPM myself). I just like to hear the music the way it is heard in the films (see above for exception to the rule). If I know there is more music available than what was released on the OST then I will want it. I remember years ago (before the 97 releases) having three different records with music from Return of the Jedi just to get as much of the music as possible.
-
I'd be happy to hear what the difference is.
-
But that is like telling everyone who wants a complete TPM not to do it because that is not the way Williams wrote it. All I am doing is adding 7-8 second cue into one of the tracks for my own listen pleasure. At least if I do it badly then I'll be the only person to complain where as if GL does it badly millions will complain.

I've just acquired a copy of the 2cd complete Raiders of The Lost Ark and after listening to it I found it is not complete as I realised that the Indiana Jones fanfare is missing from "Through The Wall". I'm now planning on mixing it in but want to know if anyone else has done this and which is the best cue to take the fanfare from. TIA

It is now being promoted in Sydney's major newspaper "The Daily Telegraph" that special "collector" pins will be available when the newspaper is purchased. Commencing on Sunday 8th May with the purchase of "The Sunday Telegraph" the buyer will get the first pin (out of a total of 14 pins), and a glossy album to put them, in free. Subsequent pins will be available every day for purchase individually at a cost of $2.00 but the pins can only be purchased after redeeming a coupon in the paper every day. The pins feature a character from both trilogies and include: Luke Skywalker (available May 8) Anakin/Darth Vader (May 9) C-3PO (May 10) Palpatine/Darth Sidious (May 11) Padme Amidala (May 12) Clone/Storm Trooper (May 13) Yoda (May 14) R2-D2 (May 15) Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewen McG) (May 16) Han Solo (May 17) Mace Windu (May 18) Chewbacca (May 19) Jabba (May 20) General Grevious (May 21); and Princess Leia (May 22) They did the same two years ago with LOTR The Return of the King and, by crikey, THEY were had to get at times. How bad is it going to be this time around!!!!!!

It has been reported in Sydney's major newspaper today that Episode II has received an M 15+ rating when it openings in two weeks time. As it was reported the "Office of Film and Literature Classification Board yesterday confirmed the film's rating, which means it is recommended for mature persons". I guess scenes where Darth Maul is cut in half are okay to be given only PG ratings.

Reason's to Appreciate the Under-appreciated Temple of Doom
Dean1700 replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
Indy in Raiders.: I don't believe in magic, a lot of supersticious hocus-pocus. Indy In TOD: Yes, I understand it's power now. Remember this line.... "Kid. I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all powerful force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field controls my destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense." -

Minor correction Joe. The figures were stop motion. The mine cars were "Go" motion which were pulled along by wire DURING the shots. The figures were manipulated BETWEEN shots. -
Quite honestly I don't think it matters where you get it from. Where you say you will may be different to where you ACTUALLY do get it from. I tend to look for the cheapest price available but only if I haven't already bought it after seeing it at the first place I visit.

GOSH, I'm going to buy alot of CD's this year.
Dean1700 replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
@#&$%! It was also rumoured that if it doesn't get released this year then it will be next year, so fret not -
I remember seeing this version many many years ago. Had I known then how hard it was to find now I would have copied it off the TV as well.
-
Whats the "but" for, Ray? The Imperial March in AotC is one of the musical highlights of the film.
-
The trouble with getting this CD now is that they are talking about purchasing $200 worth of other FSM cd's to get the Towering Inferno as a free gift. This is because they have closed off their royalty payments for this CD so they can no longer sell them. It sounds like BS to me and not worth the trouble.
-
If you have noticed many of the soundtracks are predominantly compilations of songs. And the score CD's that you do find are so prevalant it's not funny. You really have to go to a place like Borders or other large music store/soundtrack specialist to find what you really want. The pathetic part about all these readily found cd's is that when it sells off the shelf the morons actually order the same one again!, even if the previous copy has sat there for years!

How much did JW get paid for writing the score to RotS?
Dean1700 replied to Josh500's topic in General Discussion
Talk about getting peoples attention with a bit of "inside" knowledge. Some now ask the question "Who is this unknown individual?" Certainly is one way to make an impression. -
I'm with Neil on this one. Don't ever tell me it's A New Hope. It is now as it was then and as it always will be. STAR WARS Dean who still remembers a time when life existed without the prequals

Thanks Mahler. I've got the Varese release. Pity it doesn't have the film version to Combat drop on it. "We're on the express elevator to hell. Going down"

Some collectors have this score in their collections. Is this a DVD rip, someone else's personal mix or from the masters? and Can someone provide a track list and running time? Ta

Well, I don't want anything that is not obtained legally
