  1. anyone purchase tickets yet? If so what show are you going to?
  2. Does anyone else that subscribes to the print edition of FSM get the letter saying they are discontiuning the to print he magazine? I was surprised to hear this. Altough, I knew they were having trouble getting issues out when they were releasing them more frequently, I thought them reducing it to like every three months was going to be good. Plus, they only did like two of the so called new and expanded issues before they decided to do it. The good news is they are keeping the website, which hopefully will have more information on it. Plus, they are giving free CD's to people who still have issues left on there subscription. 1 CD for every three issues you have left on your subscription.
  3. I feel in love with film music after my friend from band let me borrow the JP soundtrack my freshman year of high school (1996). I literally listened to the sound track like 40 times over the course of the weekend when I had it. I was really surprised I liked it because I had seen plenty of movies up to that point and never even gave a thought to the music in them, unless they were musical movies. Pretty much the rest is history and this mb helps to continue my thirst for more information about film music. Thanks!
  4. I actually had mix reviews when I first heard the cd, but once I saw the movie my mind was put at ease. I listen to it a lot now and enjoy the main themes. The songs crack me up.
  5. I wish I could say that I started to read the books before the movie came out, that was just not the case. I saw the first movie b/c one of my friends brought it over and at the time I had no interest in it. My interest did not start until movie two (now I love them). After movie two, I decided that I really needed to read the books. So to answer the question about Chapter 1, I love it also. I do like the mystery about what is going on and what is to come, that is presented in the chapter. Since, at the time that I read the first book, I had not really watched 1 all that closely, there was still an element of surprise. I know that the books are a lot different than the movie at times and I looked forward to learning more than what the movie told. Thus far, I have not been disappointed. I get that book one cahpter 1 feeling when I read the new books because there is no movie out yet for them, so you have to get your imagination working. Plus, in the each book we are learning more and more about this world, the personalities of the old and new characters, and seeing realtionships grow.

  7. I agree with Ray. HBP does have some fascinating and intriguing aspects. I like how we were infromed of Voldemort's past and from there we can start to see why he is doing what he is doing. We have been engrossed with all the information about Harry and what is making Harry tick, it was good to get behind what was making the enemy tick.
  8. I love GOF! Because of the TriWizard tournment and the such, it was just so exciting. Plus, we were able to learn that there are other wizard schools out there. To me it just reaffirmeed that their was this whole community of wizards and witches and soon to be wizards and witches. I know it was always mentioned, but I think this book took us closer into the wizarding community.
  9. I think we will see a return to greatness with the themes. There has been a little bit of a gap between scores, so I am hoping we won't be disappointed. I like when Williams does multi scores a year, but do think it takes away from his creativity when they are too close together.
  10. November is going to be one great month! I can't wait. I guess I know what I am telling my good friends and parents to get me for my B-Day. With any luck I will not have to spend a dime on any of the scores.
  11. Welcome JWfangirl1992! Thanks to Ray for filling us in on what "ty" meant. I would have never guessed this.... Anyway, is anyone planning on going to the NY concert? I hopefully will be attending since it is only a short distance from PA. It would be cool if a group of us could get together and go. I have been to a couple of JW concerts where people from the board where there, but I just never got a chance to connect with anyone at them.
  12. Oh yeah I joined the board when I was around 17 or 18 (now 23). But somehow could not remember my username or e-mail I used when I first signed up, so I had to create the wonderful name that you see now back in 2003. Isn't it a great name!
  13. I meet JW in like 2002 in Boston, with a group of my frat brother (kappa kappa psi). He was kind enough to take a picture with all of us and one with just me. I also, have a signed program and two autographed pictures (one personalized). I am in the process of putting together a nice display. Hopefully. I will get to see him again in the near future and get a CD signed.
  14. I think that WOW & ROTS have a chance of being nominated, depening on waht comes out in the fall and winter. If there are not some good scores that come out, I believe you will see one of these sneak in. But that does depend on the quality of upcoming scores. Seeing that there are four possible chances to be nominated, I think it is safe to say we will see atleast one nomination for JW.
  15. I was around for the Revenge of the Sith fanfare, but missed the WOW fanfare. Looks like the Michael wil never die. Does anyone know when the AFI scores will be announced?
  16. Since I have last posted or even read the mb. Shame on me! But I am back now! So can anyone fill me in on what i missed (briefly) in the last couple of months????
  17. Happy Birthday! Looks like we are all pretty young. I am 23.
  18. My seats are Section B right seats 2, 4, 6, & 8
  19. Just as an update. I contacted his Agent's office and while they are sending me information such as the BIO and creidts, they really were unable to provide me with information. They could not even give me a number to contact a publist or someone who would be able to help me out further. If anyone else has any ideas, I am open to them, otherwise it looks like I will have to do my paper on someone else. I am thinking Bill Clinton.
  20. I need to know if anyone has any information on the following: 1.) JW'S Agent or Publicist telephone number or e-mail address. 2.) If any articles have been done on JW about his leadership. The reason I ask is because I am taking a graduate class that examines people's leadership and we are able to pick whomever we want. Therefore, I got the idea that I should do JW. However, I need information, so any leads on the two things above would be greatly appreciated. Maybe if I can get contact information, I could get an interveiw with JW??? I know it is a far fetch, but stranger things have happened. So any help anyone can provide would be great. Thanks. JWFAN4LIFE AKA Jerome
  21. I agree with King Mark, the article is full of backhanded compliments. I hear all the time oh Williams is good but don't you hear a little of this classical piece. What musician has not been influenced by some form of musical expression conveyed by another and used it to create there own work. It is not like he ripping off Carmina Burana! What makes Williams, Williams, is his ability to capture what the director is trying to convey to the audience, no matter how bad the movie may be. I would like to see others who are so critical of him compose for over 100 films and do numerous classical pieces and have the same effect on people. There are not many composers who have the ability to compose pieces that are instantly recognizable, like Williams.
  22. I am hoping to get my tickets this week. It will be my financee and our best friends, coming with me.
  23. Anyone planning on going?????? Tickets are on sale now.
